seven thirty twooze? Do you mean seven thirty seconds? LOL. Kidding aside, you do a heck of a job and am impressed with your efforts and thank you for your help.

1aauto says:

Your best bet would be to bring it to someone so they can fully diagnose the issue and get the job done right. You might be surprised what the right tools for the job can do to take care of a problem.

anthony macleod says:

i’m currently having a similiar problem, without the smell of gas. i had the problem a few days ago, and had the car looked at, they cleaned the crank and cam sensors and it started fine and ran good for a day, now it won’t start again. it’ll crank but won’t turn over. they suggested cleaning the coil when i called them, but i don’t really have a jack/stand nor a socket wrench to get at the coil, anything else i can try to get it to start?

1aauto says:

If it’s not it should be a similar process.

lcarrasco212 says:

have you checked if the motor has oil?

1aauto says:

If you can smell gas from the injectors you may want to may sure that they aren’t leaking which could be causing your issue.

Daniel Robertson says:

hello my question is this.
i was coming home from work last month and got home fine my 97 Pontiac sunfire was running fine. Later the next day i went to go to work so normal and the car wouldnt start. the battery and starter are new so it cant be those. i can smell gas from the ingectors so i dont think its those either. it trys to turn over but it just wont start. any ideas?

Nicholas Daw says:

i don’t know if this was asked before but is it the same procedure whether it’s ohv or dohc?

1aauto says:

Yes if you vehicle has two coils it needs both of them in order to run correctly.

hocksean10nis says:

Hey 1aauto, are both ignition coils needed to fire the engine? I replaced one but still misfires. When I pull the plugs from one coil the engine seams to start alright firing off only one. I’m thinking its the fuel injector or alternator. Thanks, Sean

Love your vids. Everything I need to do it seems you have a vid on. Great job!

1aauto says:

The only way you will be able to get them of is by getting the car on jacks and up in the air to get underneath.

I have a 1996 chevy cavalier with the 2.2 liter amd i already replaced plugs and wires but the coils are still missing and i dont have as much space as you have any suggestions on how too do it easily

1aauto says:

It could be a coil, or you could also try to run some Chevron Fuel Injection cleaner through the system to see if that helps.

dpl1108121 says:

I seem to have a hesitation when accelerating on the highway or when I am going up a hill.. I changed the spark plugs and I still need to change the wires.. but do you think there is anything else I could change to get rid of that? could it possibly be a coil?

1aauto says:

It may be a belt tensioner issue, or it could also be the alternator making noise. If you take the belt off of the alternator, and turn the pulley by hand you make be able to feel if it’s making a rubbing noise or not.

David Weightman says:

I’ve got a 1998 Pontiac Sunfire 2.2L. I have 2 questions. First I have issues starting the car, when I try to turn it over sometimes, (but mainly in the morning or first time I try to turn the car on each day) it will just crank for 6-7 seconds before starting. A mechanic told me it is an ignition sensor. But I watched this video and wonder if it may be this coil? Second, I have a loud rattling sound coming from the engine compartment near the alternator, could it be a belt tensioner problem?

Austin Banister says:

on the 99 cavalier these are right beside the air filter, super easy to do it with the hood open

1aauto says:

You could try to use a milti-meter to see where the drain on the battery is coming from.

kooldude1992 says:

Hi 1AAuto. Thanks for your awesome videos.
I am having a problem on my 97 Sunfire SE 2.4l. When I shut the car off, the battery drains to 10.4v very quickly but no lower. If I remove the Interior Lights fuse, it does not drop when I turn it off. However, when I turn the key to the “On” position (Not cranking, just turning the electronics on) the battery will drain to 10.4v anyway. It has a new starter, alternator, battery, and terminal cables. What could this be? Thank you so much.

racenjim says:

it’s not eze but can be done with a three speed auto trans. Remove the plastic clip holding the two steel lines so you don’t cut your arm. It is really tight spot.

1aauto says:

Thank you, we’ll keep it in mind if we have another one here in the shop.

carlosderek says:

it’s a great thing what you do here with these videos, they save a lot of people a lot of money. i really thank you for that and i would definitely buy parts from 1aauto. one more thing could post a video about how to change a tranny shift solenoid on a 1999 ford f-150. thank you!

animalcorvair says:

i had to change my mod on cav..best to do it like this ..i replaced both coils with a new mod no fun to get at,, but i have a 4 post lift ..no fun on the ground

Bill Hughes says:

I have changed the ingnition coils on a 1997 Cavalier with a 3 speed automatic transmission from underneath the car. The trick was to raise the car as high as safely possible. You can reach the ignition coils from right side of the motor colse to the oil filter. Further back there is a cross member with a hole over the top of te trans you can see what you are doing. It took my son and I 4.5 hours to change two coils. In 98 the coils were moved to the driver side of the cylindar head.

@ericv1984 This video should show you how to remove it from your car.
