Most OEM style headlights that did not come from the factory with HIDs, will disperse the light incorrectly such as you are seeing right now. Your best bet would be to either to switch over to standard bulbs or purchase headlights with the special projector inside of it.
I have a ? I have a 02 with hids just bought new headlights not bulbs but I have a vary bad dimand afect and I cant get the. To line up pleasse help
The headlights are different on that vehicle, so the tools needed and removal process may be different. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
Is this the same for an 04 gtp?
Thx
Your 1992 Pontiac Grand Am headlights are different. We carry new ones on our website, 1aauto.com 888-844-3393.
Is this done the same way for older models such as a 1992 pontiac grand am?
Great Tutorial!! Thanx for your help!!
HI John, We currently do not have an auto repair video that shows you how to change the header panel. Thanks for watching. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
Do you guys(1aauto) have any videos on how to exchange the entire header?
Well done, Thanks for making this easier for me! It’s kind of confusing at first but then it gets easier. I also went on to replace all bulbs turn signal, side markers, and headlight.. Thanks 1A Auto!! Keep up the vids
You could try to push in on the headlight a little bit while you pull up on those tabs as shown in the video. They should come up fairly easily for you. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
@1aauto they don’t come out I’ve tried with all my force. Any alternative?
They should come right off for you.
@1aauto 1:16 I cannot get these clips off they just seem to bend and break but won’t budge. I’m trying to replace the bulbs.
Awesome tutorial! Thanks for making this available for those of us do-it-yourselfers
Correction : then we touched test light tip to relay blades. Sorry. Thanks
Before you buy the part, you may want to test the wires with a test light or ohm meter so that you can see where the problem is.
Hi thanks for the videos. My headlights stopped working, all other lights work. We checked fuses, bulbs and relay. I’m interested in buying a part to fix but have no idea what to do next. Any help or suggestions will be appreciated.
Thanks for this vid. I was able to replace my head lamp bulbs. Gotta whine though, could GM have made it any harder to access them? I had a ’92 Honda Accord that was much easier – all you needed to do was pull out the plastic holder out of the head lamps and voila, change ’em on the spot. With the Grand Am, you’ve got to pull out this and lift that and blah, blah, blah. Should be easier and perhaps that’s one of the many reasons why there are no more Pontiacs.
Thanks your video was very helpful will use again when needed thanks again
You’re welcome. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
Awesome! I was able to change my headlamp with ease. Thank you- Tatyana
