+mxracerguy Great video. Thanks!
Thanks for watching. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

Alley Schutt says:

yes you have to pull out the drive shaft to get the seal on…thats what my
mechanic had to do to.

stoggers says:

Excellent! Thanks again guys!

1A Auto Parts says:

Some applications may require it some may not. It the original hub bearing
have one on it then you can use the one that came with the new hub bearing
assembly. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

Tailgunner Z says:

My old hub didn’t have it.. but then both hubs were replaced by someone
last month, apparently he over torqued it and so the bearing gave in. Since
I didn’t see you put that one in, I’ll safely assume that it is not needed
for this car.

Tailgunner Z says:

I put in a new hub yesterday, and noticed that there was a gasket provided
with the bearing, for which I had no use . It was the diameter of the outer
race of the bearing itself and was about 2 mm thick. Did I miss something?

Andrew Gleisberg says:

thanks for the video, I just had to replace the drivers side bearing. it
wasn’t as easy as this video though. the hub came out and the collar stayed
in the knuckle. 2 cans of coke (out of penetrating spray) 2 hours of
cussing and 4 hammers all the way to a 35lbs sledge finally got the collar
out of there

1A Auto Parts says:

Ahhh the old Coke trick…lol That stuff can chew through rust pretty good.
Thanks for watching. Have a great day! 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

TheKimbleant says:

Hey a1 guys I have a ? I havea a 02 grand am and I have no dash lights or
ac ligjts but the otange ligjt is on to tell me ac is on whats could it be
thanxs

1A Auto Parts says:

You may not have power to the AC compressor. You may want to test the wire
going to the AC relay and also out the the AC compressor with an ohm meter
or a test light. Hope this helps you out. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

phirehawker says:

I just installed these from 1AAuto. Mine came with an O-Ring and a seal
that I didn’t use. The Haynes manual said to use them as well, but my car
didn’t have them on it. I assume they’re needed depending on year and trim
level.

Shortstory123 says:

@1aauto I beleive I watched that one too. I was all over youtube gathering
any info I could on possible little things I might run into. I guess this
one must have stuck with me for some reason. And yes… the venture
probably would have been exactly like my Montana. Just the same I
appreciate these great videos and the time and effort put into them! I soon
learned I had to turn the ignition on to turn the steering wheel back and
forth to reach those back bolts. THANKS!

1A Auto Parts says:

@1976tkelly I’m not sure why that was in there, it could be needed for
another application. Your hubs should install just like we show in the
video.

FromThe3PointLine says:

is there some kind of cotter pin holding the hub nut on?

1A Auto Parts says:

a metal one will work but you need to be careful you do not mash up the
threads hence why a brass hammer is useful because it is softer than normal
hammers.

1A Auto Parts says:

A bad CV joint usually tends to make a thumping noise, bad sway bar links
could also do the same thing.

1A Auto Parts says:

You’re 82 would have the older style wheel bearings. Here’s a video we have
on an S10 with the bearings similar to your Camaro. It’ll give you an idea
on what’s involved in doing your wheel bearings. Hope this helps you out

service as well.

Tony Hall says:

36mm’s Thanks

Joel Cortez says:

Thank you guys so much. Extrememly helpful!!!! You guys are great. I tell
everyone i know to check your channel out!

JamesGillis35 says:

1A Auto Parts says:

You could however use the new nut if one was provided in the package.

Bo Hendrix says:

Great Video, Thanks

Matthew Diederichs says:

Love your videos and love 1Aauto.com . I’ve run into a problem with my 97
sunfire, I can’t get the T55 torx bolts to move at all, I’ve broken a few
tools trying to move it, nothing is stripped out and the bit is still in
good shape, the hand tools just break, I’ve broken 2 sturdy ratchets and
split my extender in half! What can I do to loosen them up?

Shaydenia says:

I’m about to change my bearings on a 97 Cavalier. Checking out the Haynes
manual which also applies to this same year of Sunfire, it says the torx
bolts should be torqued to 70 and the center hub nut to 185, while you say
they should be 60 and 144. So I’m wondering who is right, you or the
manual? I would hate to over-torque them and break something.

Chuckles17 says:

Thanks for the video. I successfully changed both my front hubs today. The
only thing I would mention is that you may need two different lengths of
T55 bit. The one I bought worked fine to remove the caliper, but was too
short to get to the bolts holding the hub on. I had to buy a second, longer
bit for that. The stores I checked only stocked short bits, and I had to
buy a whole box set to get one long enough.

1A Auto Parts says:

You’re probably looking at a couple of hundred bucks, depending on the
hourly rate of the shop. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

MrJaybody says:

I’m going to have my mechanic watch this video when the time comes for me
to do my front hubs. And by the way, what brand of hubs did you use in that
video? . . .

1A Auto Parts says:

@z352kdaf8324 To take the hub off you would need to remove the nut because
this holds it in place. Hope this helps you out.

LuvtoDubStokes says:

Amazing! really helpful

MirandaEartherCaller says:

Thats how mine was bam bam bam bam, grab a bigger hammer and bam bam bam
bam I love it! my new hub was a sealed bearing type, and I was not sure
whether to resuse the old metal gasket pieces, as the new hub didnt come
with them, so I left them out, so far everything seems fine.

dough3208 says:

Awesome vid thanks for posting i will use the torque info and other tips
about ABS to change the bearings on my 2004 caviler its alot easier than i
imagined long as the bolts aren’t seized on there . isn’t the internet a
great tool for the shade tree mechanics out there .

1A Auto Parts says:

@robertjbender Sometimes it’s easier to break them free that way.

1A Auto Parts says:

@TheDonten Yes procedure is the same

bramletyabercrombie says:

I just remembered 110 i guess I was wrong, Should I tighten down to 144?

z352kdaf8324 says:

ok, I backed off the hub nut , and used a ball joint separator knock the
top part out a little bit, and was able to get my wheel stud in place. 144
ft lbs? lol I got some more cranking to do when I get a chance on that! All
I know is I was past 90 ft lbs I was using Haynes manual and couldn’t
exactly figure out in a rush what the proper torque was

1976tkelly says:

@1aauto Thanks for the help! this video was a major help! it was exactly
the video i was looking for! thank you sooo much! and thanks for responding1

1976tkelly says:

My new hub came with a red cap and rubber o ring but i didnt see this guy
put it on!?!?!? where does that go????

MirandaEartherCaller says:

Thats how mine was bam bam bam bam, grab a bigger hammer and bam bam bam
bam I love it!

Tyler Hansen says:

would this be the same on an 87 2.8l camaro?

1A Auto Parts says:

@i13w13d If it has ABS there should be a wire to plug the sensor in.

terracon says:

I noticed that these hubs do not have the ABS connector or speed sensor on
them. Are those separate items?

2hellinahotrod says:

Great video. I did the identical job by trial and error before I saw it,
and had no problems, but I definitely would have watched the video first if
I’d known about it. I don’t hammer my tools with an ordinary hammer, thats
the only bit I didn’t agree with. I’d use rawhide. Another thing, the
torque figures in the Haynes manual are a lot different (185ft lbs for the
hub nut…hope I have’t overtightened it!!.

1A Auto Parts says:

@sm1th007 If it applies to your model year you should see where it belongs
when you remove the hub. That hub seems to cover a vast year range, it may
be needed for some model years but not others. The hub shown in our video
is the one that we carry on our website 1aauto.com Hope this helps you out.

i13w13d says:

i have an 2002 sunfire 2.2L i have my abs and tcs light on and i changed my
hub on driver side and to my knowledge the abd sensor is built in the hub
but there was no cable or hook up for it does that mean abs was removed
from this car bought it the other day

Mark Wolf says:

Do you know where I can by the 4 bolts or what they are called. The ones I
took off are stripped and was wondering if they sell then in a 4 pack or
something.

1A Auto Parts says:

Yes they should be tightened to 144ft Lbs
