OMG. I just had a psychotic episode trying to replace my filter and ended
up throwing the filter down the road. LOL I should have watched this video
first. THANKS

Raynelm says:

I have a ’98 Sillhouette. The hose on the top front of the engine coolant
resivoir is relaively loose. Is this a problem?

kenman1717 says:

if you take the elbow off between the throttle body and air filter box, the
cover comes out much easier and goes back in much easier. have run into a
lot that the cover slots on the bottom don’t go into place properly.

1A Auto Parts says:

@kenman1717 Yes good suggestion. I do that on some cars. Just to clarify
the comment you could use a screwdriver and loosen the tube up close to the
engine pull that intake tube off with the air filter box.

JalenTigh says:

That hose is NOT flexible. Not sure if age or something hardens it, but I
had to remove the hose to get the cover to even budge. This is the most
ridiculous air filter set up I have ever seen…

Brian Edwards says:

Yes I found the same inflexibility problem. Had to take the elbow off and
the tube going into the coolant reservoir, and some wires. Made reassembly
alot easier too because I could see the bottom lining up with the holes.

If it’s leaking then you should tighten the clamps.

PonzuPonzu Ponzu says:

Just wondering does the air conditioner or heater have a filter as well? My
heater and Air conditioner does not work well and I was told to clean the
filter. Is this possible or is there a leak in the rad that would make this
happen. Any thoughts? I would think my air conditioner freon needs to be
replaced but some one told me about a so called filter. Need help Thanks

@onelife151 Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day!

Great Video! Thanks for making it. Nice camera work. Once I watched your
video changing the filter was simple.

PonzuPonzu Ponzu says:

That was awesome! The cabin filter was so plugged, I couldn’t believe it
was there for so long. My husband even changed the glove box and never
noticed it. He was so impressed I was able to get this information! Thank
You so much. Yes, the heater heats up so much faster like the air
conditioning as well. There is one vent that is not blowing as much so
there must be a plug there some where! To have that fixed is just great!
Thank You! 🙂

This is a VERY helpful video — thank you. I’ve been changing air-filters
on cars for over 3 decades, and my 200 Montana has been a miserable,
dreaded task. Your “tip” to keep the elbow & housing together and attached
to the throttle body, then doing the twist up and back maneuver has made
the job much easier for me, especially when putting it back together. It’s
still a challenge, yet your video helps a lot. (You just earned huge good
will towards future business with your company too)

1A Auto Parts says:

@lovea69rtoday Here’s a video that we did that shows the location of the
cabin filter. youtube.com/user/1aauto#p/search/2/vz-JK0RUork

onelife151 says:

I was doing that earlier but i couldn’t get the hose to the throttle body
to swing up like that so i had a heck of a time getting the filter into
there. Really like the video I should of watched it before I attempted the
replacement.

RetroGam3Nerd says:

This was the worst placement for a air filter. I got it out easy, but
putting it back together was a bear. I think would rather replace the
transmission in this than replace this filter again. Also when looking for
this video I stumbled across your video for cabin filter replacement. I
took it out and man were they dirty, so I just temporary cleaned them until
I can get a couple more. Thanks for the great Video’s.
