Back in the day…..I grew up in the town of Abilene, Texas. The car culture was fairly strong and many people would cruise North First on weekend nights. I remember the street racing with much fondness. Its strange to say a 16 second quarter mile wasn't bad back then. A 15 second quarter mile was a good race and a 14 second got you serious respect. What a new stock Mustang, Camaro or Challenger can do boggles the mind.
The sound of your carborated small block brings back wonderful memories. Please put a mild cam in it and make it go rumpety rump.

Growing up, my dad had a 79 trans am 10th anniversary, 12k miles, absolutely mint in every way. That car was so cool . I love this body style and am glad to see you and your dad fixing this up. It is really cool watching you and your family doing this together and it is family friendly entertainment, no cussing! You also obviously like to teach people about what you are doing. Keep it up!

It's great to see and hear the changes and I love these cars but really it should have gotten a proper cam. (Sorry for pooping on things LOL) but I love it! Great Exhaust! Oh BTW These cars will move out much better if you shift them manually as you are trying to get a time or just in general. Those highway gears are killers for a decent 0 to 60.

Anytime a second gen Firebird/Trans Am can be saved is a great thing! Those headers practically installed themselves!! You didn't even need to "massage" them!
