Have a 2004 grand prix GT 119,000 its leaking power steering fluid like a
sieve, pretty sure its one of the hoses and not the pump. Spoke to a few
local mechanics and they said more than likely the hose as this is a common
problem on the grand prix’s.

Roy Rogers says:

My grand prix has a leak also…think its just one of the hoses lose or my
need a clamp?????

starwarssuck says:

The 99 Grand Prix with supercharger also has the reservoir on the same
place… those without the supercharger has the reservoir on the top…

MichaelAdamsRocks says:

She’s up to about 112,000 now.

MichaelAdamsRocks says:

You twist it like any other cap, but be careful not to drop it trying to
pull it off. It’s quite tight behind there.

kimmilil says:

same as mine . damned car, my mechanic put some stop leak in it and will
hopefully seal it a bit good luck with yours

ekt8750 says:

@MichaelAdamsRocks Yep. I’m dealing with a leak myself now that’s a little
bigger. I’ve got a reservoir hose that I think is leaking so that will be a
fun project to take on this weekend.

Dbritta says:

How do you get the cap off!!!!

Kit Jacke says:

I’m sorry, but 95k miles ISN’T “high mileage”. Talk to me again once you
hit at least 120k, then I’ll start to consider it being called “high
mileage”. I’ve had cars then nearly hit 200k before I got rid of them, and
I didn’t have many problems with them. Believe me, cars can go up to and
past 200k if you really take care of them.

MichaelAdamsRocks says:

You need an extended funnel. Watch out for the heater hoses, they’re hot
and easy to touch.

GM=Garbage Motors

Jeremy Vermurlen says:

still have the alero

MichaelAdamsRocks says:

@ekt8750 That is good advice, thank you! But I won’t have to worry about it
much longer. It will be fixed soon. It also helps that the leak is actually
quite slow.

soboboo says:

There’s a better video out there which will show you where the reservoir is
located. Just do a YouTube search for : “2005 Pontiac Grand Prix (Base
Model) – Power Steering Reservoir [Where is that damn thing anyways?!]”

MichaelAdamsRocks says:

@ekt8750 How do these things break? Haha

MichaelAdamsRocks says:

@fordjeremy04 Yeah. It was originally mine from 2005 to 2007 and then my
brother took it after I got my Aztek.

ekt8750 says:

Take out the antifreeze reservoir and you can get better access to the ps
reservoir

menacinggesture says:

Government Motors, but yeah, they’re garbage, too.

ilgesmccool says:

Awesome video. All I did was watch till 2:34 and put on my shoes, my
husband beat me out of the door and fixed my car!! Mine is a 2005, with
about 60,000 miles. Makes no noise now, my reservoir dip stick was dry!!
You saved my car!!!!!!! Now to find the leak. Thanks so much for posting.

MichaelAdamsRocks says:

Haha! Thanks, I knew where it was, it was just a pain to get to. I got the
rack replaced back a few months ago and haven’t had a problem since.

Imbyteme says:

stop leak wont work for long it will swell all the seals up in the OPS
system and cause more leaks down the road if you replace the rack to get
rid of the leak male sure the PS is flushed before you hook up the new
rack….
