+Scotty Kilmer any chance of a video on replacing clutch on a rear wheel
drive? And do you recommend swapping the transmission fluid after you
already drained it when doing the clutch?
youtube gold! thank you so much
Hey scotty i was drivin my 94′ ranger 2.3 today and i believe the clutch
slipped, it revved up high and didnt go anywhere. I pulled over slowly, and
just drove back on the road and it drove semi smooth for the additional 80
miles i had to drive. I thought when a clutch goes bad it slips terribly
and quickly. Mine just got right back on the road. would you say it is a
bad clutch, if so, how much time would you say i have til i need to swap
it. In addition, should i get the flywheel machined when i do the labor?
+Scotty Kilmer I have a 3dr hatchback Civic, 2003, bought it at 48,000
miles. Got warned about the input shaft bearing and before long there was a
grinding noise coming from the transmission, after a while it was decided
to get a refurbished gearbox and new clutch. That was all fitted, but the
noise came back it found a crack in the refurbed Gbox so put some putty
over the crack, and topped the Gbox oil back up. Now I believe the throw
out bearing “clutch release bearing” is whining. When the engine idles it
whines but as soon as the clutch is depressed and bites the whine stops.
Also at first start up the clutch squeaks from inside the Gbox when
depressed. Any help would much appreciated.
okay what do I do if I got an automatic clutch lever it is an 1995 ford
windstar 3.8 engine and the gear stick wont show what gear you are in like
the needle wont say and the clutch goes into gear sometimes and slips?
I like your style!
Hey scotty, why did you make this look so easy lol? Anyways, where can i
find me a cheap clutch? And did you take the WHOLE transmisision off to put
the clutch in, or did you just kinda slip it in through the cracks if you
know what I mean? And lastly, do you think it’s required that I get a
clutch kit?
Sir,
you have so much energy!keep it up!!!
You make it look so easy! My Vw Passat started slipping in 2 and 3 gear so
i’m starting to learn :)
Do you know if this method will work on Saturn SL1 1999, repair guide says
to remove the engine/transmission together to replace the clutch and that
seems a bit excessive.
Any tips on replacing a jetta mk3 clutch? I mean are they any different or
harder than any other non european cars?
Hi Scott, I have seen many of your videos and always notice how chipper you
are and that you reply to comments. I Have not had any car issues in a
while, I just recently found out I needed to replace my transmission on my
98 honda DX hb
So I took it to my buddy’s garage who races cars, lol. He’s not a mechanic
but we took my old one off and replaced it. Before we swapped it out the
car drove fine other than the noise the throughout bearing was starting to
make. Now we have the new transmission on and everything set back up and
all of a sudden my clutch disc isn’t grabbing… car won’t even move ..
My linkage rod to the transmission is back on. It’s very random and I can’t
understand why? Line to my slave cylinder has been bled and refilled, my
clutch moves now with the right amount of resistance.
Any and I mean any reason you think would cause that I would love to know 🙂
I know it could be maybe many things that have happened but figured I’d
ask.
hey scotty you wouldnt happen to have any tips on how to change a clutch in
a 93 mazda mx6? do i have to pull the motor or the whole tranny? or can i
get away with the way you did it. thanks so much for your videos!
Hi,i got a honda civic 93,ONLY when the car reach the operating temperature
when i put it on D4 (normal driving speed) at about 25 to 35 mph the car
shake that bad that i tought that was a misfire, one time i lowered the gear
to D3 IT STOP shaking, put it back to D4 shake again,BUT ONLY always after
reaching operating temperature!! wat do u think, bad tranny?
Scotty you make it look so easy. You must have shocked the doctor with a
14mm ratchet wrench and little blue gloves on the day you were born.
My question is: Can I use the same procedure on my 1994 Celica GT Engine:
5sfe? A buddy of mine insists that I need to lift the engine to change the
clutch because that is how he did it on his 1993. I say he didn’t see your
video before he started the job.
I doubt you need it but, in case somebody has a similar problem to mine and
would like to compare their problem with this answer, here is a dropbox
link to a photo of under my hood.

man you make it so simple!
Scotty, I need help. My cars clutch pedal got stuck on the floor while on a
red light. While parked I pulled the clutch pedal back and it made some
funny noises and the car shaking not going more than 20 feet. The clutch
completely failed. The car starts but it doesn’t run or want to stall in
any gear.
Vehicle is an 1998 Audi A4 6 cylinder. Please help
How sweet would it be for this cat to live next door..
Lol, a 4 minute front wheel drive clutch replacement. If only…
my car vibrates at the 1st gear coming from a stop and have trouble
accelerating, what should be the culprit???
i took the front wheel off my pickup looking for my transmission it wasnt
there.
If i dedicated an entire day to repairing/replacing a clutch.. Aprox how
much time would i spend out of my day
Do you recommend to change the flywheel too?
Man its too much work and i have the clutch problem i guess ima have to
work it out good video
Hey Scott! I own a 1996 Mitsubishi 3000gt Base 3.0 DOCH. Non-turbo.
Whenever the car is at a complete stop, for instance a red light, when I
push the clutch in and try to shift right away into 1st the gears grind, I
have to wait about 2-3 seconds before I put it in gear. Same thing happens
when I go from 2nd to 1st sometimes when coming to a stop. Is that my
transmission going? or should I just replace the clutch and flywheel?
Any tips for a Ford Laser? We have been trying to shift the gearbox to get
to the clutch plate and it is not moving but we can’t see why.
ant tips on replacing a clutch on my fiat multipla 1.9jtd car
Hey scotty if your familiar with honda/acura…I have a acura integra tht
needs a clutch and I want to remove the transmission out of the
bay…..what do you recommend on using to take out the shift linkage pin
with out that tool made for that job?
i was kind of being facetious because cars can be different changing a
clutch in a front wheel drive verses a rear wheel drive is a different
animal all together. but no matter the videos are great i enjoy watching
them, if Scottie put the model and year I don’t think he would have 385000
people watching a video on replacing a clutch.
Hey Scotty love the videos, quick question, Are there different styles of
throwout bearings? I ordered a Luk clutch set for my 96 Ranger and my
mechanic is saying the bearing is a different style than the stock. He’s
suggesting I buy one from Advance auto parts for 60 bucks so its more like
the stock? Any words of wisdom are appreciated Thanks again !
makes it seem so simple
