Peugeot 307 1.6 HDi Driveshaft oil seal and CV boot replacement

Fixing an oil leak on a 2007 Peugeot 307 1.6 HDi
I noticed when i had this 307 in my shed that it marked its territory with gearbox oil on the ground. Also when changing the brake disks i noticed that the front passenger side CV boot was loose and grease was beginning to escape.

Both the CV boot and the driveshaft oil seal combined cost less than £20. I am doing the work using a jack and axle stands because the 305 getting the turbo diesel conversion is on the lift. However using a jack and axle stands gives a view more akin to what most DIYers will be doing. This is definitely a job that can be tackled DIY and should greatly increase the service life of this car.
