I replaced the waterpump and belt according to these instructions. But the new water pump is making a metallic rattling sound. It sounded worst during the first hour of driving. The sound was less frequent and at a lower volume after about 1,5 hour of driving. Until now I've driven the car for 2 hrs and 15 minutes and the sound is still there although not all the time. I've read on another forum that it could be due to the water pump and belt being new and needing some run time, a "breaking in" period and that the sound would eventually go away after some hours of driving. Could this be true? Or should I check for other problems before driving again? Apart from the sound it seems like the water pump is running okay. No leaks, and the engine is not getting overheated. The belt is pretty tight and at the same tension marking as before. The sound is similar to the sound of the old faulty water pump which was leaking but not exactly the same or as frequent at this point. By the way, the car is a Toyota Aygo from 2006
I have been following for a long time now. Changed water pump today and I always refer to you when working on my Aygo. Saying goodbye to the car this week, thanks for everything you have been great! I will still watch your videos regardless!
thanks a lot, nice video for a common failing part in those cars. the belt tension trick didn't work though, the new belt was more tight than the old one.
Rubbish taste in muzac and too loud, yes I did turn it down but still muted it in the end,
Спасибо за наглядную инструкцию. Очень полезно!
