Citroen DS5 1.6 THP 155, EP6. I believe it’s the same as the Citroen DS4, Peugeot 3008 and 5008. Not sure if same for Peugeot or Citroen Diesel. Follow the procedure below prior to disconnecting the battery:
* Open bonnet and driver’s side window (the window is left open for access reasons).
*Ensure all doors are closed and remove key from the ignition and put it more than 15m from the vehicle (do not leave the key in the ignition or near the vehicle as the transponder circuit will detect the key and this can prevent the networks from sleeping).
*Wait for 5 minutes, – Don’t press any buttons, open any doors or use the remote key fob during this time.
*Follow the steps in the video and disconnect/remove the battery.
*Wait at least 5 minutes before reconnecting battery.
When reconnecting the battery follow these steps:
*Ensure all doors and tailgate are shut, and the key is more than 15m away from the vehicle.
* Reconnect the battery by reversing the steps in the video.
*Wait a further 3 minutes (do not open doors).
*Switch on the side lights through the driver’s window.
*Again through the window put the key Fob in the car or in the Fob Reader, press the Start Stop button without pressing any pedals. That will switch the ignition on only.
*Press the Start Stop button again, without touching any pedals to switch the ignition off.
*Remove the Key fob from the reader through the window, then lock the car using the sensor on the door handle or the button on the fob.
*Unlock the car either using the sensor on the door handle or the fob.
*Now open the door, start the engine and check there are no errors etc.
*Switch off your side lights.
Done! You’ve just saved yourself a fortune in labour costs!
Perfect guide, saved a fortune, many thanks
You should do one for C5 Aircross too π
Thank you. Followed your instructions and it worked to a tee. I did put my fobs in the microwave though (Faraday cage). If it feels like the battery box won't come out just give it a good yank towards yourself. 2016 blue hdi
That plug is a pain. Ive lowered the orange safety catch but its a pain to get it off still. Any tips anyone?
Your work, perfect!
But the engineer who design that in that way… it was a total idiot!
I thought you're ment to disconnect the negative before positive?
Do you know by any chance where is the backup battery stored on a Peugeot 3008 hybrid 2? It keeps telling me the same error, backup battery flat, and a few mechanics have failed to help me now
Yeah mate! Thanks for this video. It helped.
I used to think that the (manual listed) 3 hour job to change a headlamp bulb on a 2007 Renault Megane was the most ridiculous service issue I'd come across. Ladies and Gentlemen we have a new winner! Great video though.
The designers of these cars should be fired.
