there is no obd on the pug there is ony a two pin plug under the ecu, im not sure how it work or even if its worth it. its old tech on a very simple system so probably not even worth it

where is the OBD plug on the mark1 106?

Magneti Marelli is italian 🙂 and it is a very good mcu . thanks for the vid!

well the best bet is to take the ecu plug apart and using the wire that has to be connected to the cluster, randomly touch it to wires on the ecu while its running (the wire is a signal wire so wont hurt anything)! When you find the right one it should display around 1000 at idle, there may be some that make it say about 500. if i remember rightly the loom for the bosh ecu has a different main plug where it joins the body loon by the battery.

what do i need to do if i have a bosch?its weird because i have a mk1 and the conputer is bosch.
ialready have the cluster from a xsi and i really wanted to put the rev counter working….

if i need to replace the computer i need to replace the entire loom because the computer plug is different.

thanks alot

interesting vid. i know for my car you have to replace the sepo cable at the gear box with a electronic sender unit and then wire about 20 wires up to connect the digital dash in place of the analog. would be cool but very labor intensive. although my digital version is a actual lcd read out so probably more co complicated.
