Oldsmobile Ciera Mass Air-flow sensor

I briefly speak about how to clean a mass air-flow sensor on a 1996 Oldsmobile Ciera. It’s usually sufficient to clean this part unless it’s somehow damaged….

Hi, sorry for the long time in my response. I would say based on my before and after with that part, it could very well be causing issues. Signs in my case was very poor engine operation (surging, hesitation, engine dying randomly, overall lacked power). That, along with my fuel filter, and alternator were my main issues. Take it to a place like Autozone, O’ Reilly, Napa, etc and have them check for any codes. If the service engine soon light is on, they could pull it. Good luck.

Hey buddy, my 1996 Olds Ciera SL stalled out on me a couple times the other day. Started up fine immediately after. I plan on replacing the fuel filter, but do you think that could be the MAFS?
