You should see my alero with just the aftermarket spectre air filter…sounds beast on my 3.4 with 229.xxx
I had to run custom made CV shafts on it or spend every weekend replacing stock ones. Back before Chevy did the whole Ecotec high power kits the 2.4 was the way to go if you wanted to push some serious power out of a 4 cyl. Custom intake and intercoolers I had way too much money in that car and improper diagnostics and lack of on board engine management caused a badass car to go boom

my favorite GM 4banger ever made the 2.4 DOHC. I had a badass 96 Z24 Cavalier twin turbo then blew it up from way too much boost and NOS
Good mod, now to really make a diff you should get yourself a performance muffler. Between the 2 things you should get a horsepower increase of 10 to 15 more HP.
Thought about one for our ’99 V-6 two door. Can you notice a difference?
