HAHAHAHA it’s happy to see me!
You should learn real quick that you should never, fucking ever, pull into a pep boys. It’s a wonder that they don’t charge you just for opening their doors.
imagine if you threw the spring with the spring compressors attached
Let me see if I got this right, you’re a car guy?
Yeah – a good electric impact works too. That’s what I use meyself.
Could I use an impact gun instead of air tools?
Hey erik thanks for this vid. I’m changing my cv axle’s and ps front hub on my 99 grand slam and I wasn’t sure which bolts to pop off to give myself room to rip the cv axles out. This was just what I needed! Stay dirty, don’t wear gloves :p Love the channel.
Can this work with any car?
I have a 99 gmc jimmy and the front driver side is way lower than the right.is this a bad shock, strut, spring or something else?thanks.

Hey Eric how do I replace a ign coil on 95 Tacoma 2.4 please do a video dealer says you might need to remove distributor,,,HELP IM LOST
Did it without Air tools. Was a pain in the ass to compress that spring by hand. Thanks for the video
I like that you emphasized the safety concerns. I resolved the safety issue of the spring not compressing correctly, or insufficiently by using two pairs of compressors. I compress with one pair until I can get another pair in at the widest points, then compress these until the spring is not longer tensioned the mounting plate. The first pair of compressors will need to come off in order for the coil to sufficiently compress on certain vehicles. If they can stay on, they become safety devices.
9:50 hahaha
If I change the front string and front struts together would that be easier? Do they sell them in one assemble as a request?
Save your life when using spring compressors, put on a safety bracket! I have posted a video you can find by searching for safety bracket spring compressor.
That is a darn good idea. Price difference is minimal alot of the times too.
This is what I just did. For the cost difference of less than $20 a strut, having it pre-loaded with the spring was well worth it.
I did all 4 struts on my 2009 Camry because the tire shop told me 3 out of the 4 were leaking. After purchasing all 4 I found many entries in various forums that Toyota struts are notorious for leaking and some leakage is acceptable. Oh well…I have new struts.
I do the same, usually with the assembly still on the car so I don’t have to hold onto the whole thing.
Hello Eric, having watched your video it does show in good detail how do change a suspension spring. At about 6 minutes you mention about the dangers of using spring compressors and whilst I agree they are dangerous to use they are a lot safer than doing what we did. At 9 minutes you refer to a loaded bomb….. well here is your proof in our video response.
How much would you expect it to cost for a shop to swap out a strut bearing? I was told $95.00, which seems excessive. I would like to know before trying to do it myself.
hahah it’s happy to see me
Happy to see me Lol
You had much more luck than I did last night replacing my struts with the vice grips. No matter what I tried it would just keep spinning the shaft. Ended up having to hammer a pipe wrench into place.
very informational were doing this in school well actully learning to take The whole suspension assembly off. do u have any videos on that? so exited to be a body man
