You don't even have to mess with the ball joint at all! Just separate the tie rod end from the knuckle…

thanks for this video. Question though, Im doing the same exact job. I want to know if you had any problem for not installing that cup which you called "splash guard" ..? I got an after market cv axle and it cane without it as well, Im just a bit worried if its going to cause a leak
