03 maxima se got codes p0447 p0159 p1167 p0420. The p0447 is a vent control
valve. Now I’m having trouble filling up the tank. I have to fill it slowly
but I don’t think I can fill it completely. Also the gas Guage is not
working properly. Are these the symptoms that the vent control valve needs
to be replace?
This should not cause the tank not to fill up all the way. Your issue might
be related to the vent on the fuel filler neck.

Something like that could be anything unfortunately. Sometimes it is a
spark plug. Sometimes it is an ignition coil. To properly diagnose the
vehicle you will have to bring it to someone who can do a road test with a
scan tool attached to it to see exactly what the engine is doing.

You could try to tap on the charcoal canister valve to see if it un-sticks

does this apply to a 2003 maxima? i got engine code p1456. failed canister
purge valve/vent solenoid or failed fuel cap… unfortunately its not the
fuel cap.
Would this prevent the tank from being filled all the way? I can only get
the tank half full.
We currently do not have an auto repair video on this particular repair.
Also check for a possible vacuum leak, and check the evap canister valve to
see if that’s working right. If there’s a valve on there that’s sticking it
will throw a code. I had this happen on a 98 Altima I had. Hope this helps

if its the v6 3.5L engine, should be the same as this video, if its the v4
2.5L you could lift the car, secure it with jacks and look to see if its in
the same place as the video
If it’s throwing that code it could be the canister valve or possibly the
gas cap. You may want to check those.
P1440 = Evap Control System Small Leak
I have an 01 maxima & po446 is the code changed the gas cap now this might
have to be the 2nd step

Do you have a video for the repacement of the canister itself? already
replace the valve that was full of dirt.
At the current time we do not. There should be only a few bolts that hold
it in place.
This is for the EVAP system ? Would it throw a code if its bad ? Like mabey
a P1440 ?
