How to Install Replace Front Strut – 2002 – 2006 Nissan

Hey Fitness Guru’s and Car experts and of course the Do it yourselfers!

Today we are going to work on my car. It turns out my mom needs a car and I’m not going to buy her one so I’ll let her use mine until she get her’s fixed.

Now I don’t want to give her a busted car so we have to fix it up and make sure its in top notch performance

In this video, i’m going to walk you step by step teaching you how to change the strut and a sway bar on a Nissan Altima 2004 3.5L

A little background information in my history of cars. I use to be an autobody Mechanic in the Army before I became an Officer. I’ve done this many times.

I bought this car brand new when I was in college. I went to the moon and back in this car. It has over 215k Miles on it and it still drives like it’s brand new. I also do my own preventive checks and services on the vehicle so it helped a lot.

Now before you get started, if you are ever unsure of how to do this, by all means, take it to a certified mechanic. It can be scary and the strut holds your car up. You can do this, I believe in you:)

What you going need
2 Wedges
Sway Bar
Strut
2 Jacks
Sockets 21, 19, 17, & 14MM
Torque Wrench
Hammer
Vice Grips
Penetrating oil
Wrench 17 and 19 MM

Great video, thank you. But as others told you, don't use a torque wrench as a breaker bar, because it will go out of calibration. It's also safer to use jack stands. The scissor jack is only to change a tire in case of emergency. I'm a bit Captain Obious here but it's more for those who do not know.

No jack stands? Didn't even put the tire under the car to catch in case it falls?
