You test a thermostat by heating it in water. If it begins to open at ~180’F (for this thermostat) it’s working. If it doesn’t open fully or it doesn’t open at all, it needs to be replaced.
Thanks a lot for this! Greatly helped me 🙂
Thanks……this helped fix my girlfriend’s car. Keep posting! 🙂
Holy shit when I seen your face I was like nahh it can’t be Scott, but shit I was wrong. :DD So awesome that your not into just bodybuilding.
dayum, you are hot stuff!… and thanks for the vid. i need to change the thermo on my altima. are there any other vids with your shirt off??? (wink wink)
Nice
Tnx… had to fix it on my 2002 maxima. Great video.
Rody (Netherlands)
Lmao…I lift Things up and put them down…
I lift things up and put them down…….
“Make sure the car is cool when you work on it, you don’t want it to be hot at all near the engine.” Yes Scott, I think we all know this ahaha haha
thats easy but it is more difficult to lift 120 pounds
good job scott, nice video 🙂
no.. radiator is leaking too… half the problem is solved 🙂
Thanks brotha 🙂 I do my best to help! 🙂
lol.. well it wasnt the head gasket. The radiator is leaking. But the antifreeze has been not exploding either, so I am going to assume the thermostat was bad as well 🙂
So, how much did your friend have to shell out to ultimately have the head gasket replaced? 😉
I hate the fact that insurance costs so much!!! in England, you pay more for insurance than you do for the car, i’d love to own a nice car like scotts
More like helping people like a boss lol…that is some weak trolling Zerk. Weak trolling is weak.
Thermostat doesn’t regulate pressure, that’s the job of the rad cap.
Placing the old thermostat in hot water will show you if it is broken or not
WATER TO GO JACK,& MASTER IF ALL TRADES!!! IT WORKED, YES?
Check out my video “2010 Camaro Intake Install- Scott Herman”
haha if by paid you mean a free part to fix my friends car 🙂 Then hell yeah! 🙂
Don’t worry, I will be ok. No this was a friends car 🙂 Thank you for the support 🙂
From all the videos I have seen about scott, this is not his car, he drives a 2011 or 2010 Camaro SS
For a Camaro 2ss, would you consider getting a better cool air intake?
Nissan got a thermostat, and said to its engineers, i want you to build a car AROUND this!
Is this ur car it don’t look like it if not please post about it soon:-) I did not like the hold I would loved 2 wach it all working on it:-) U should wear a coat so u don’t get sick I would miss all ur vids if u got sick & did not post:-(
hit*
this is cool im sure u liked the extra cash from autoshepard haha. jk. but this is sweet try and do more if possible. about to his the shoulders/traps HARD!
Thanks brotha 🙂 Appreciat the kind compliment!
Well, we think the radiator might beleaking as well. The rate of losing anitfreeze has slowed down dramatically an no more “explosions” But it looks like there may be a radiator leak as well
did it solve the problem?
a bit of advice, fire ur camera man…
How to fix dirty hoes with Scott Herman!
Love the car videos Scott! 🙂
Haters gon’ hate, means you doing something right. Let’s see some more work on the camaro though, can’t wait to see it finished.
ohhh that is a great idea!! Nice man!
you are a gob shite
best way i found to see if the thermostat is bad or not is put it in a boiling pot of water and see if it opens measuring the temp to see where it opens at
5:48 Yes Scott my bag is still in space!
So did it end up working or was it the head gasket?
lol ignore the lonely little prick, great video
