What exactly in the driver is bad?

Roverpartsplus says:

2002 Montero xls (not the sport) I only got .5 volts when I checked the new
temp sensor. Where should I go next? The temp goes to hot but the engine is
not. Thank You

obebobone says:

where do i go and get this module at. i have the same problems with fuel
and temp

andy quin says:

Thanks mate, you saved me heaps. I had the same problem with my temp gauge,
and when I replaced the little box on the back I found my speedo wasn’t
working and it was because I didn’t take the face covers off to push it all
together, now I’ve done that it all works fine. Thankyou so much. From your
mate in Australia

MJRPerformance says:

You need to do the exact steps in the video. First verify that you have
five volts to the sensor with the wire unplugged. Then verify that you have
proper voltage at the sensor with it plugged it. If there’s an open in the
wire or the sensor, the gauge will stay at zero.

Ramon Gonzalez says:

i have a 2000 galant and idk why or how but the sensor does not even go up
even when its beenbrunning for hours wouldbthis be the same problem as
yours?

MJRPerformance says:

Could be either one, or the wiring in between. You need to verify the
sensor is good with a scope. Best place is right where the wires connect
tot he cluster. That way you know the wiring is good. If this checks out
OK, it’s the cluster. If you don’t have a scope, and don’t have the money
for a high-end one, the uScope from AES Wave for $399 is a good tool for
taking these kinds of captures.

Tsog Ayurzana says:

Hi, I have a same Pajero that has faulty speedometer that goes nuts and
never points the actual speed. Is it anything to do with gauge or speed
sensor in the transmission?

MJRPerformance says:

Great for people in the US or Canada. Cost prohibitive for overseas. $190
plus freight to repair a $150 part.
