Mitsubishi Lancer Fix: Catalytic Converter Replacement P0421 Smog fail fix

“Efficiency below threshold” catalytic converter blockage

Tools Needed

O2 sensor socket
12 MM socket
14 MM Socket
12 & 14 MM wrench
19 MM socket
Torque ratchet
Various ratchet extension
Hand razor blade for cleaning
Brake cleaner for cleaning
Soft brass brush
Shop rags
Gloves
Safety glasses
Jack stands, floor jack, and chocks for blocking the rear wheels

Parts Needed
1. Catalytic converter (I used, original, Part #)
Below items are included in the
I. New nuts
II. Exhaust manifold gasket
III. Flange gasket
IV. Inner and outer nuts for the exhaust manifold.
(Remember to install new or old washers)

Hi, thank you for making this video. The mechanic told me my car has the p0421. But that's all he told me. I don't know if it's bank 1 or bank 0. I don't know which catalytic converter to replace, the one near the engine or the one under the car? Can you please help me with this? My car is a 2003, Galant, 2.4L. I already replaced both o2 sensors.

Wow seems so easy due to your detailed quite tutorial. But it seems like that 1 nut fucked up everything lmao. If there was access to it without having to pull the steering and etc the work would be cut in half.

my 02 Mitsubishi lancer rpm when I start it is at 2 and 1/2 its high I think. also its slow to get to 55mph. do i need to change my cadillac converter? ?
