I HATE Mitsubishi MiniSplits

I HATE Mitsubishi MiniSplits

Why I hate Mitsubishi mini-splits? even though they are the better built heating and cooling comfort system? It was because of the poor training I received from there Kentucky training center. I took the M&P and the City Multi class. They used someone that was being trained to be a trainer and when the trainer didn’t come back on the last day it’s obvious they failed. Yep! My class was a sacrificial lamb, which resulted in a total waste of our time.

RP Bishop says:

People usually hate the things that they’re not capable of understanding. You really should find something that you’d enjoy doing; something that doesn’t require a great deal of thinking. Also something that doesn’t include any customer relations. I can see you emptying bed pans in a hospital.

I absolutely prefer Mitsubishis. I've very rarely had issues outside of logic boards failing to operate L.E.V.'s

James B Wonka says:

You don't like working on them, because you haven't had the training. You don't get the training because you have done it all already. Sounds like your a know it all. Arrogant. This is why we hvac people don't win the person of the year contest.

NewShockerGuy says:

So strange because Mitsu is like the industry standard for mini splits. I was almost about to buy a Daikin LV 18k BTU mini split for my small two car garage. I have been thinking about it for almost 3 weeks now. I'm going to pony up and spend the $500 more and get the Mitsubishi hyper heat 18k BTU unit. I know 100% that I am going to kick myself later when something happens and wonder why I didn't go with Mitsubishi. From what I read as well they are way easier to clean the blower motor on the head compared to Daikin.

My friend has a Mitsubishi in his garage and loves it. I plan on installing the unit myself. Only thing I'll probably have a HVAC guy do is do a nitrogen pressure test. All the other tools I have. And reading through the installation instructions from Mitsubishi and watching countless hours of mini split install it seems rather straightforward. Follow the directions to the T and you should have no issues. It's mind boggling to me when I ask a question on HVAC forums and everyone is like "IMPOSSIBLE" for you to install it… I was quoted $8k to install a 18k BTU unit. I can buy the Mitsubishi for $4k and then spend a month installing it and buy ALL the tools over again and I'm still going to be ahead of the $4k labor charge that everyone is charging here. I need 15' of lineset and the exterior wall is 12 inches from the back wall where I plan installing the mini split. It doesn't really get any easier than that.
