I swapped the lamp out 3 times before things got better – the first two
were Philips and were terrible, and the last one was Osram (which I believe
is the brand these TVs come factory installed with). This resolved the
flickering issue, but the TV still occasionally dims during dark scenes.
Because this happens at exactly the same point regardless of how many times
I replay the blu ray or rewind the DVR, I’ve come to believe there’s an
issue with the TV’s image processing. Stupid old tech.
Were you able to find out what the problem ended up being? I have the same
issue 🙁
