Don't clamp the strut like such. Scratches on them will accelerate wear out the dampers; that's a no no.

So on my front stabilizer bar link on my 2010 Mitsubishi Lancer ES has a semi-stripped Allen Key socket. You mentioned having to ruin the link to get it off, so I was wondering what you did to remove it. Spent 3+ hours on the single bolt trying various remedies and nothing.
