Hi there,
I just bought a 2007 Lancer Wagon 1.6, and there seems too be a slight
whining noise coming from it, depending on the revs. What could it be?
Thank you in advance.

I have a 2002 lancer es .. my timing belt had broke and I have no idea
where it connects too other than the alternator can someone point me in a

thanks you saved me money the belt was only 8 bucks

em7th says:

@grubby03 Yes you do have to remove the serpentine belt first. I covered it
on another video. Please search for “AC, Power steering, Serpentine belt
replacement Mitsubishi Lancer ES 2005”

Thanks for the video. I’m hoping to put a new belt on my friend’s Lancer
tomorrow, and your explanation is very helpful.

little rage inside of me bursting to turn that f**king nut hahahahaha
thanks~!!!

Libertorius says:

can someone help me. i have a lancer 03 2 liter normal not turbo and I have
2 belt…2 different size…I guess one is theserpentine belt) whats the
other one called? The other one is larger then the serpentine…

zxvasdf says:

@MonkyMonk729 Soon enough I’ll add some drunken rage to the list. Thanks
for the advice!

grubby03 says:

Did you have to remove the the Serpentine belt first? That part isn’t in
the video. I have a 2003 lancer and it doesn’t look like the alt belt will
come off without removing the serpentine belt first???

Mike Little says:

Your a life saver! I have a subscription to one of those “do it yourself”
websites and it did not have any information about performing this on an 01
mirage. Your video got me up to speed in no time! Someone asked below and
the bottom nut on my alternator was a 14mm. Was able to reach it from up
top too! Must be living right….

MonkyMonk729 says:

Thanks for the help! I just replaced the alt. belt on my 2002 Lancer ES.
The procedure is the same if anyone is wondering. The worst part of it, for
me, was loosening the nut on the bottom of the alternator. I had to get at
it from under the car, it’s in a tight spot (one rachet click), and it was
rusted on good. I’m not a mechanic so there are probably tools/techniques
that I don’t have to make it easier. Some knock ‘er loose spray, a tiny
hammer and drunken rage eventually did it.

Cameron Maynard says:

What size nut is the Main alternator nut (at the bottom of the alternator)?
And can I get to it with a regular size wrench like the others? Thanks!

Eugene Jastrzebski says:

Same as my 01 Mirage, only i didn’t have to loosen the main alternator nut,
not sure how hard to tighten it though, i’ll look around. Thanks anyways
man, lots of good help in your videos

kiminiaitakute says:

@dallasgambit: Yes, it’s practically the same. All ES, LE, and OZ cars from
2002-2007 use the 4G94 2.0 liter. Only the Lancer Ralliart uses the more
potent MIVEC engine.

dallasgambit says:

is this the same with an 2003 lancer

NU MOO says:

Thanks man! It’s similar set up for my 2002 Galant ES 4cyl, helped a lot.
