My 5.7 Grand Cherokee has 16 also. 96,000 miles oil pan gasket failed. Along with both upper control arms
It’s been dual ignition for years. Helps get complete combustion in the cylinder due to the size not allowing a full combustion burn front and prevents detonation on the next cycle
1 to burn the fuel on the intake, 1 to burn the exhaust for emissions

My Raptor 6.2 has 16 as well!!
Same spark plug amount as a 2000 Benz SL 500. And remember Chrysler was owned by Daimler Mercedes before.
