In this video we will show how to perform and oil change on a 2012-2024 Mitsubishi Mirage. It can be done pretty much anywhere. Jack is not required as the car does not need to be lifted. In fact, the only tools you will need for this job are a 17 mm hex wrench or socket of any kind and a utility knife. Also, you will need some old oil containers to make other tools. I hope this video is helpful! Have fun!
I've done 17 oil changes on my 2017 Mitsubishi Mirage so far. I added a Fumoto oil drain valve, which simplifies the process a little. I use two cheap drain pans. I let the oil pan drain as I am changing out the oil filter to save time, and two drain pans allow for that. I roll my car up homemade ramps made from 2" x 8" scrap boards. I find raising the car 5-6" makes it easier to slide underneath, but it's not necessary. I also use an oil filter socket with a stubby handle racket, because it's easier to slip on to the oil filter to tighten & loosen. None of these items (drain valve, ramps, or oil filter socket) are necessary, but I use them because I have them. Plus, the factory oil filter would have never come off with my bare hands. Nice presentation on how to do this with the least amount of added cost. Good job & thanks for sharing!
