RyanKnowsTech says:

Check OWC’s site for the full compatibility, but I think the 6Gs are only
good in the 2011+ Macs.

RyanKnowsTech says:

@TheGeek1028 Audio jack crapped out.

RyanKnowsTech says:

@TIRanald Yeah I thought about that but the old SSD wash’t large enough for
what I ned on that other drive.

UltimateTechPlace says:

@RyanKnowsTech i think i should get it for my macbook

ktfx5 says:

I should start saving money for an SSD………

Sheldon Kautz says:

@RyanKnowsTech lol ur more than welcome keep ’em coming

UltimateTechPlace says:

is kennan getting a data doubler for his new ssd?

Zach Nagle says:

can you use this ssd with a pc?

RyanKnowsTech says:

@chrisak49 I apologize, sorry to see you go.

chrispenguin427 says:

damn i want that drive but i have the 2011 early 17″

RyanKnowsTech says:

@znagle22 Yes

RyanKnowsTech says:

@abnercus Actually I got rid of it a few weeks as I don’t know how to use
it, and I prefer Apple’s Motion or Final Cut Pro.

Chris Randazzo says:

lol @ “pardon the gay intro”. My thoughts exactly. Great video, thanks!
Installed mine flawlessly thanks to this.

RyanKnowsTech says:

@UltimateTechPlace Do it, it makes a huge difference!

ThatProGuy1 says:

If I am getting a data doubler to put my old hardrive in, do I have to back
up everything and install mountain lion again?

Sheldon Kautz says:

no-no- how you doin

Shipwreck76 says:

@RyanKnowsTech It’s currently stock. Not sure what the size is. Not even
sure what it’s called under specs. I’m a new MAC owner so I’m still
learning. I did order the OWC 16GB ram set. OWC stated that in order for
this thing (MBP) to have “Warp speed” I would need to get the item you have
in your video. I’m looking at the extreme 120GB, 240GB, 480GB.

RyanKnowsTech says:

@miamiheat4251 Thanks a ton!

Max Clark says:

@RyanKnowsTech …ah. So, is it just sitting on your shelf or what?

chrisak49 says:

The “gay intro”? Really?!? Wow…Kind of offensive don’t you think?
…Unsubscribe

Max Clark says:

So wait a sec, what happened to your MB Pro 13″?

Bryan Salzberg says:

Can I use a 6G in a Mid 2010 MacBook Pro 15 Inch

Shipwreck76 says:

@RyanKnowsTech Cool thanks!

Tristen Grant says:

Will this SSD be compatible with an older 2006 Mac Pro computer? Thanks.

RyanKnowsTech says:

Not if you just move the driver to the Datadoubler.

RyanKnowsTech says:

@abnercus I used a friend’s VLK for it.

Shipwreck76 says:

I’m thinking of getting one of these. The extreme, but I’m not sure what
size I need. Advice?

thejtech 1234 says:

Just what I wanted thanks ryan

dollarbill125 says:

What OWC ssd would you recommend for a mid 2009 macbook pro?

Matt Halpain says:

awesome vid. I like the fact you got the OWC Mercury Extreme Pro 6G SSD and
showed an install too.

RyanKnowsTech says:

@Shipwreck76 See how much data you’re using right now. Just get information
on the Macintosh HD drive. You’ll probably need a 240GB drive unless you
put your existing stock hard drive in the data doubler and keep non
application/operating system files on that to save space.

RyanKnowsTech says:

@ollieblade I use Final Cut Pro X to edit, so I just put that layer over
the video.

RyanKnowsTech says:

@ollieblade To just put it over? Yes. But not easy, or I believe even
possible to do in iMovie.

Abnercus says:

@RyanKnowsTech But didn’t you pay for it? Since you got rid of it, would it
be for sale or was it a Demo?

RyanKnowsTech says:

Haha thanks! Very happy to help you out!

RyanKnowsTech says:

You will need to boot into your Mac OS X DVD. I believe you just hold the
“C” key right after you press the power button. Then just follow the
on-screen instructions.

JCSB TV says:

Samsung SSD’s are really good there the fastest I have seen

Zach Nagle says:

@RyanKnowsTech you dont use the optical drives for software or movies ,
etc. ?

RyanKnowsTech says:

Check OWC’s site for full compatibility, I’m not familiar with the older
machines.

RyanKnowsTech says:

@theonlydoberman211 I’m not using this through USB, it’s in Bay0 in the
Mac. But USB is 480MB/s, which is about the speed of this drive read/write.

Sheldon Kautz says:

@RyanKnowsTech lol im doin perfect loving ur video’s

Drew Pickens says:

cool beans

RyanKnowsTech says:

@thetechfixer Only if he needs the space. He’s got around 35GB free on it
so I think he’ll be fine. I have about 15GB on my SSD free, and about 366GB
free on the data doubler drive.

RyanKnowsTech says:

@znagle22 Nope, I get all of that data online or my Apple TV.

Abnercus says:

Could you do some After Effects videos? I’ve noticed it in your dock a lot.

theonlydoberman211 says:

why would you do that to such a fast drive? usb can only go so fast! it’s
useless!

RyanKnowsTech says:

@miamiheat4251 I’m doin’ fiiiinneeee. How you doin’?
