Repair of a Mercury controller shifter on a boat. I’m continuing with the restoration of this old Ranger 330-V bass boat. I noticed while on the lake the other day that my shifter wasn’t working as smoothly as I wanted it to. I’m on a budget. I’ll show you how I repaired the shifter with a spring kit I bought.

Wish I could have seen entire handle removal. The 3 bolts are spinning on back when I try to remove unit to remove handle. My up/down switch is erratic & I think is corroded.

Don't know where to turn to. I'll try to be brief. I have a 30hp Yamaha tiller that I doing a remote shifter and throttle. Everything works fine independently. when I make the final connection to the throttle it will not budge. The new unit is an Vevor 703-48207 side mount controller. What am I doing wrong, any help would be appreciated.
