I had a problem on my 1991 ford Explorer where my rod clip on exterior door
handle broke what do I do ?
I’m at a predicament. Both my exterior and interior door handles are broken
so I can’t open my door. Please help !
latch//good job thanks//AMDG
Sorry if I posted twice, but what if you can’t get the door to unlock? Can
the door panel be taken off with the door closed?

Can the door panel be removed with the door closed?
LOL You have the same problem as me,both handles are broke and I cant open
it…
thank you so much I was able to fix my door handle because of your video.
@carlcrenshaw1 Glad to help!
@darinandrade If you can’t open the door with the key, it sounds as though
the door lock tumbler may be frozen. If this is correct I would start with
fixing that issue first, and if for some reason that door locks still do
not pop up, it may also be a bad door lock actuator.
If you take the door panel off, you should be able to pull up on the rod
inside of the door and pop the door open so that you can repair it that way.
7:12 LMAO because I’ve been doing that! Thanks for the wonderful videos.
@chuckruby3 Yes this video will work on your truck.
i have a 97 murcury Mountaineer, ive been told there on in the same. and
the door says ford.. i have frozen lock on one door a handle that dosent
open from the outside on one door and a handle that dosent open from the
inside on another door. will this tutorial work for mine?
Do you have any suggestions on how to fix a lock actuator when you can’t
get the door open? The door is locked, the handle is broken, and pulling up
on the lock rod doesn’t unlock it. Can the door panel be taken off with the
door closed?
@deandre131remz You would need to find a way to get the bolts off. If the
door is rotted around the handle area, you might want to check your local
salvage yard for a new door.
Bought one of your door handles because of this video. Thanks for the help!
hi, i have a 1999 ford explorer and i watched a couple of your videos on
the door parts. my problem is different. I cant unlock the door with the
key and when I press the keychain button the lock trys and trys to pop up
but it cant. from inside the truck you can open it and it unlocks but it is
harder to pull than the other door. what do I have to fix on my door? let
me know, but at least now i know how to take off the panel.
Thank you, bro. You saved me a lot of grief and time.
You should be able to.
Hi Mike, Thanks for the videos! I’m about to change my inside drivers side
door handle for the 3rd time in 2 years. I park in parking garages alot and
I think the attendants kind of beat on them a bit. Do you know where I can
get a heavy duty door handle for my 2001 ford explorer? Thanks! Chris
what if the screws where your handle attaches to your doors have stripped
the metal around it so bad that they slide and don’t open the door, what
should you do?
