Buck says:

Now the window cowl does not fit tight to the window. There is a quarter inch gap. How do I fix that?

kamui4697 says:

yes, it is recommended that it is changed every 30,000 miles.if you havent yet,now would be a good time

radicalphantom1 says:

be sure to get an inline filter for your garden hose. regular water has minerals and salt deposits which will eventually corrode the engine and cooling system. The filter will help minimize this but i recommend distilled water

1A Auto Parts says:

We currently do not have an auto repair video that shows you how to accomplich this.

Joe Seely says:

Do you have a Video that covers replacing a transmission in a 98 Taurus?

1A Auto Parts says:

One thing you could try is to take a garden hose and flush out the heater core from the engine compartment. All you need to do is remove the two heater core hoses and go back and forth between the two outlets. You may be suprised at how much stuff comes out of there. If your heat isn’t blazing hot after that, check the blower motor resistor to see if it’s working correctly. We carry new ones on our website 1aauto.com. Hope this helps you out. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

johronsful says:

this may be a dumb question but will the cabin air filter help with the heat cause my heat in my 01 ses is ok but it does not get hot the more i turn it up the cooler it gets i have to leave it on the second knotch for decent air

1A Auto Parts says:

We currently do not have an auto repair video that covers this particular repair. We do carry the Haynes manuals for your Ford Taurus that should cover this repair. Here’s a link to them on our website. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393 1aauto.com/1A/repairmanual/Ford/Taurus/1AMNL00014/219724/2000?utm_source=YouTube&utm_medium=Youtube&utm_campaign=1ATony

Richard Philpott says:

How can I change the rear spark plugs on my 2000 ford taurus Flex fuel

1A Auto Parts says:

You don’t have to change the cabin filter ever but it will eventually get backed up and clogged so changing it once a year would be wise now that you know there is one.

Mas S says:

Hi I have a mercury sable 2005 with 156,000 miles do I have to change it ?/

Trust me, dealers already know. If you have a heavy rain you’ll find that your heater/air conditioner will stop working because the leak is right over the motor and will flood it until it stops working. There’s a part that you can have installed that covers the motor that runs the heater/air conditioner, and when it’s installed there should be a small whole that gets sealed and it will keep the water out of the car. But, the dealers know EXACTLY what it’s from. Don’t let them rip you off!

1A Auto Parts says:

If you’re not sure if it has a filter in it, you could have the dealer run your vin number for you, and they can tell you if it came equippet with one. Hope this helps you out.

DaddyFat Sacks says:

Hello. Question? Would a 1997 ford expidition have a cabin air filter? is it a option or does it only standard on 4×4? Because I have a 2×4 and I can not find it?

1A Auto Parts says:

If it has never been changed, you may want to check it. It more than likely will be fairly dirty.

Tom L says:

I have about 165,000 miles on my 02 Taurus SE. Should I change this do to the age of the car or not?

1A Auto Parts says:

Thank you for checking us out. Have a great day!

IronMaidenDoD says:

awesome. 5 stars. thanks 1a!

1A Auto Parts says:

You may want to look under the car at the floorboard to see if it’s rotted at all. You could also get in the car and have someone run a hose all over the problem area to see if the water leaks in from anywhere.Hope this helps you out.

f says:

I have a quesiton. Have a 2002 ford taurus SES and after it rains my drivers floorboard gets soaked. Heard of this at all? Or what might be causing it, dealer looked couldnt figure it out said they wanted $250 to try and see if the sunroof is leaking and water is running down A post. Which I know is BS cause nothing in that area is wet.Pulled up the carpet and was soaked but can’t find where the leak is coming from. Thanks

1A Auto Parts says:

It would be a good idea to check it in the fall and in the spring to see if it’s dirty. When it gets dirty, then you should replace it.

abiggs0109 says:

How often should you change the cabin air filter my ford taurus has 80k is it ready to change yet?

Aspencade1984 says:

If my 2000 Taurus does not have this filter can I install one now? I think what I am asking is that is it a special/different cowl setup for the cabin air filter equipped cars or do all Taurus have what is needed to accept a cabin air filter. If they are all the same then I just need to pick up a filter and install it, right?

lkat7071 says:

That part is called the COWL TOP INNER PANEL SHIELD. You should be able to find it at any junkyard. That’s what it’s called in the 2000 Taurus Owner’s manual on page 168.

Rahul Jones says:

One reason why i like Toyotas are they have made this really easy. It didn’t even take me 5 mins to replace the A/C filter.

1A Auto Parts says:

Thank you for watching our video.

RacerE7773 says:

I replaced it yesterday; the previous owner didn’t even know it was there. It was original and was so dirty you could barely see the ford on the filter.

lilsbaby12 says:

i love watchin OTHER people try to work on fords.
who engineered these heaps anyway. it seems like ford goes six turns out of their way to make it overdifficult to work on. sure they make money off of little tricks like this cabin filter location but, who wants to pay 1/2 to 1 hour labor just to have one changed. shoulda put it behind the glove box…dah ford

1A Auto Parts says:

Check your local salvage yard. Not sure the exact name but the cowl trim or Lower windshield trim or molding should get you in the right direction.

Opathan1 says:

What is the name of the plastic cover that goes over the cabin air filter? The flap on the left hand side broke off mine and heavy rain drips water into my cabin air intake. Any information or links to where I can buy a replacement part is much appreciated. I’m sure the dealer has it, but I’m not keen on paying them the massive premium to get it…seems easy enought to replace on my own.

1A Auto Parts says:

cabin air filter is the same as an interior filter.

RacerE7773 says:

I was wondering if the taurus had a interior filter. Since I just got the car recently.

1A Auto Parts says:

This is the cabin filter that filters air entering the passenger compartment. Different vehicles have different intervals, 50,000 miles I believe is what is recommended. The Engine Air Filter on the Driver’s side I think manufacturers recommend every 10,000 miles but that is only necessary if you drive in dusty conditions. Check it often and replace if you see a lot of dirt.

colorsilk30 says:

is this the one you change when you change your oil? or is that the one on the driver side? or am I just completely wrong 😛 ?

1A Auto Parts says:

Not sure but I will post it on here so maybe someone can answer.
