Thanks a lot for the video! Very helpful

Kendall House says:

My A/C works just fine, but my heat just blows cool air, could this be my
problem? 2002 Ford Expedition?

1A Auto Parts says:

There may be an issue with the actuator that selects the air duct inside of
the tubing. It might also be a vacuum issue. You may want to check for a
loose, broke or disconnected vacuum line inside the engine bay or under the
hood. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

csimons4266 says:

Hi. Thank you for this (and all the other) video(s). I just bought a 2002
mercury mountaineer and I’m noticing that the air is ALWAYS at the floor by
my right foot (driver’s side) coming from the bottom of the center console.
I can change air locations (defrost, face, feet, mixed locations, etc.) but
there is ALWAYS air at the bottom. And it is HOT. It will burn my leg if I
rest it against the bottom of the center console when my foot is on the
gas. Do you know what this might be?

1A Auto Parts says:

The blower motor resistor may have gone bad. We carry new ones on our
website 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

YouBigChooch says:

Hey There, my ac was only working on HIGH for a while – if the switch was
rolled all the way up, then it would switch on. if i lowered it, it would
turn off completely. Now, it wont even switch on in the high position. any
thoughts on what it could be?

1A Auto Parts says:

It could be a bad actuator, if the system runs off of vacuum too, it might
be a bad vacuum line. I’d also check in the engine bay and under the dash
for a bad vacuum line to see if that might be the issue. Hope this helps
you out. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

Neobaggio says:

I have a 00 explorer and the air is blowing only from the windshield vents,
the cold-hot temperature feature is working fine but when I turn to a
different position, front panel, feet or both front and feet, nothing
happens. Actuator? Thanks

1A Auto Parts says:

The 97 may be a different procedure. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

TashBrianne says:

Is this also the same procedure for the 1997 explorer?

Kristen Martinez says:

I have a 2001 Mercury Grand Marquis. When i have the AC ON. It only blows
HOT air. Is this caused by the actuator mentioned in this video ? Thanks
for your time.

1A Auto Parts says:

You may want to make sure that the AC compressor is working and that it
kickes off and on with the AC. If it is working right. the Freon level
might be low. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

1A Auto Parts says:

You may be able to see if move when the heat selector changes position.

Kristen Martinez says:

How would i know if my Blender door is bad and not the actuator ?

1A Auto Parts says:

You may want to see if there’s a loose or broken vacuum line which might be
causing this to happen. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

andyg2084 says:

@1aauto hey there, thanks for the reply, its exactly like the one you are
doing the demo. on, its the manual temp and direction control, any ideas?
thank you so much

teaglet1 says:

is this why “sometimes” the air doesn’t come through the front panel?
sometimes I say, as i am driving, it starts flowing, replace the actuator?

tucole11 says:

i have a 2006 explorer and when i turn the dial to heat it just makes a

scobra97con says:

i have a 98 ranger that blows hot air, when a/c is on and on flat surface
or going downhill, its cold. when i go up hill, it gets hot and fan stops
running.if i start off quick, it gets hot.sometimes i can hear the blend
door shut.the acuator seems to be working. im thinking it could be a
vaccumm problem cuz the time this happened, i lost my 4wheel drive. any
clues ty

1A Auto Parts says:

@Bstang1 It sounds like you have dual zone automatic temp control. That is
probably a different issue. there may be a solenoid like this that is bad
somewhere or your sensor on that side could be bad.

Raymond09871 says:

Is the procedure for fixing the ‘recirculate’ on the climate control for a
Lincoln similair to this?

1A Auto Parts says:

@mrexecutive1 Thanks, nice to see a repeat viewer. Mike

1A Auto Parts says:

We’ll keep this request in mind in the event that we need to make this
repair in the future. Hope this helps you out. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

1A Auto Parts says:

It could be the issue, you may also want to check for a possible loose
connection to the blower motor, it might be loosing power. Hope this helps
you out. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

Boyd W says:

I just replaced the motor on my 09 Ranger. I put the shaft of the motor
down a little into the hole and plugged in the connector before screwing
the motor down. I turned the temp selector and it slowly moved in its
range. The motor has more travel than the door. Motor from Napa. The motor
closes the door hot at about 2pm angle. Somethings wrong with either the
design or motor. I hope there is not a pen inside of the system blocking
things. I ran into that with my 94 F250 2 years ago.

1A Auto Parts says:

@westrnboy You could try to flush the cooling system. They sell a liquid
flush at the auto parts store. Walmart usually carries it too, you can also
flush the system out with a hose if it’s warm outside. This will help to
remove particles that could be clogging up the heater core. You may want to
chance the thermostat while you’re at it. If this doesn’t work it could be
a faulty blend door. Hope this helps you out.

1A Auto Parts says:

We currently do no have an auto repair video that covers this particular
repair. The process to remove it may be different.

cho2442 says:

I have a 2001 ford explorer sport. I dont know if its the blend door or
what it is. My air blowes out but just at the defrost spot. It blows hot
and cold so I dont know what it is. Can you help please

Thanks for the video, helped me troubleshoot

mesa863 says:

Thank You for your help, I just changed a blend door actuator on 2007 ford
ranger, took old one apart and the small gear was chewed up, teeth ground
off and that was causing clicking noise.

Juan Lopezgomez says:

I have a 1995 Mazda B4000 and when I turn on the AC you sends heat into the
vents after a while the AC will turn on. What is the problems and what
parts do I need to buy?

NelsonToB says:

my heat not blowing hot air but it’s blowing cool air but when I’m driving
it will heat up a little, what could b wrong

Buick Mackane says:

How much would that part cost? I have seen them running about $89.00 ?

1A Auto Parts says:

It may be coming from there. We currently do not have a how to video that
shows this repair. A Haynes or a Chiltons manual may show you how to
perform this particular repair.

1A Auto Parts says:

It could be a similar process, we currently do not have an auto repair
video on that particular application.

1A Auto Parts says:

You may want to have the system tested for leaks. It’s possible that the
antifreeze that you put into the system may have leaked out.

ssl668 says:

@1aauto thanks for responce. I found problem and it is at actuator spleen/
shaft from inside heater box. It semms to have broke off completly from
door mechanism. Today i pryed up flap through actuator hole mount and i do
have heat now. Suprisingly, Dodge corporation wont cover this in any
“Faulty” engineering and/or defects. When it clearly should have not have
any failure with only 4 years of use ,so far.. When dodge vehicles work
,they are good, but when they break ,dont turn to them help.

1A Auto Parts says:

It may be a similar process. We currently do not have an door actuator auto
repair video for that particular repair.

1A Auto Parts says:

@slliks67 At the current time we do not have a repair video that shows this

juanchomex1 says:

is this the same process for a 1998 ford expedition xlt 4.6v8

bigd3285 says:

I have a 1999 ford expedition. I was just told it need a new blend door
actuator. Is it the same steps for my truck?

1A Auto Parts says:

@ssl668 We currently do not have a video of this repair on your
application. The basics on the Explorer video may be similar to your
vehicle, but the removal process and location more than likely will be
different.

Taylor Coleman says:

I have a 1995 bonnevile. Will this be hard for me to do on my car, cause I
have to replace my air temperture door acuator as well.

Dan Camargo says:

@westrnboy I have the same problem with my Lincoln Aviator 2004. If you
figure out why its doing this let me know.

Jonny Hoppman says:

Please answer! THis is bizarre. I tested my blend door actuator and it
works perfectly. Hot outdoors temerature air coming through all vents. I
jam my hand over the hole where the A/C knob arm controls the opening and
closing and I feel ice cold air. The A/C is working that means but it blows
hot? WTC? Please help if you can! THanks…
