Check your diagram @2:30 – the signal return and 5 volt pins are reversed!!!

When the codes are cleared the monitors are also cleared. By monitors I mean the computers tracking of emission causing aspects on the vehicle. For example, it will track the O2 sensors, EVAP system etc. The reason you must drive the vehicle after clearing the codes is to try and reset the monitors with a pass verification. The testing center will then see the monitors have all passed and in turn pass the vehicle emissions.

wil the code or light not go off on the car if it is fixd,cause air polution check stations wont pass u if codes were just removed they say drive it 100 miles and come back, this has happen alot on fords i have cleard
