Johnny Gonzales says:

I'm so glad you cleared this up. I always wondered why you picked on Mercedes so much, and I gotta admit, I would always get a little offended when you made fun of them, but now I understand completely. I have a 2011 E550 coupe (built in Bremen, Germany) that is driven very hard, and is still solid as a tank.

Asaf Farfar says:

Your thoughts on 2017 Toyota Tundra w/ 5.7 litter. Or newer?

J.L. the Seagull says:

Scotty lets be honest.

Mexicans be cooking in the kitchen lol

chad haire says:

WRONG!!! The Lexus ES 350 is also made in India…same quality specs!

Mac Eldolaimy says:

scotty what do you think about ford cars and suvs in terms of quality and reliability?

Bilal Alakozai says:

Hey Scotty what do you think about Acura, Infiniti compared to Lexus ? Would like to hear your comparison between the Japanese Luxury vehicles

Ian Nicol says:

This guy is truly clueless

BigFiveJack says:

What do YOU say about a vehicle with an inline six cylinder engine from the mid 1960s, say a Ford pickup truck, with no computer nor any related junk. I think a carburetor, naturally balanced inline six cylinder engine, no catalytic converter, no electronic nightmares, and plenty of room in the engine compartment to work on the vehicle when needed is the best way they've ever been built.

Navid Soroush says:

It’s simple supply and chain. Better for Scotty means cheaper. It’s cheaper to fix things that have more demand (more demand, more production, more parts, less expensive).

EscapeVelo says:

My Toyota Camry was made in the US (I think Kentucky), but Japanese made ones of the same year were sold in the US as well. 2003

dgn107 says:

the ML made in Alabama gets a lot of criticism but I have a 2000 ML and I have 170+k of very hard miles on it and it's a pretty solid vehicle. I know sometimes a good one comes off the line but I think that model doesn't get treated fairly.

Walter Strahota says:

Question for Scotty: What do you think of Subaru cars? I have never heard you talk about them. Maybe they are not common in Texas.

Abdull 99 says:

If you don’t buy it, Scotty Kilmer will.

skunk says:

I have a 2013 E350 and I love the car I've never done anything to it only oil changes and tires and nothing has ever gone wrong with it.

alextheromanian says:

they take care of their workers overseas. paid vacation, paid maternity, health coverage, retirement plan, decent hours…..basically democratic socialism that works and employees that love their company and do good work for it for good pay. so both the employees and the workers make great wages.

compare that with the bullshit we have in the US with most employers. companies that go bankrupt full well knowing taxpayers will bail them out because the market cant afford to lose them as an employer.

VW is better in germany too. here…is a different story, especially the ones built in mexico and shipped here.
they do great work there…there is no denying it. wish we would compete rather than keep saying were so great over and over while putting out things like these explorers that have had failing transmissions since they were made.

nakreuger says:

can the same be said for bmw?

Jack McAvoy says:

Scotty just hates anything American

Kacpa2 says:

Hi Scotty I have 1990 Toyota Celica(same gen as your previous black one) Clutch pedal sometimes is getting stuck after being depressed, and it has to be depressed a bit too far deep to a point that floor carpetting is being cut torn through and it touched the firewall to fully engange it. I am pulling it back with my feet when it gets stuck, but i think about fixing it properly what should i do?

Eric J says:

Here in Europe it's more expensive to drive an American car then a Mercedes or BMW.

Randy says:

So true. I have had an early E300 and 2 of the C Class 2.3L 4cyl Kompressor (supercharged). 2002 Coupe 203 and 1999 W202 Sedan currently. All made in Germany. Never had issues with any of them. Sure a little simple routine maintenance but rock solid. Plenty of power and good gas mileage. Do your homework and get maintenance records if at all possible. You can have a great experience with a Mercedes if your smart about it.

C172Pilotdude says:

Same deal with Fiat and Alfa Romeo. Probably can also be applied to Lamborghini and Ferrari but I never owned one nor does anyone that I know.

NorthAmerican Auto says:

My dad drives $35,000 miles a year and always drives Mercedes because (unlike BMW and Audi) they last a long time (he keeps them about 200,000 miles) and are safe, and comfortable.

NorthAmerican Auto says:

Never buy a Mercedes with a vin starting with a number.

BenzSUV says:

HI Scotty, just wanted to point out a few things. Love your videos. The 2019 Lexus ES350 is being built in USA for the USA market. They are no longer being built in Japan. Also, as far as I know, Mercedes luxury cars for the US market is still made in Germany except for C class. In their Alabama plant, they are only building SUVs and recently started building the C class. So the high-end lux cars are still built in Germany. However, the one shift that I am seeing is that before, say 1990s, most of not all the parts were made in Germany. Now, even for German vehicles, they are sourced from Mercedes or other companies in Europe. For example, serpentine belts are made in Spain, filters are made in France and so on. BTW, i have the same ES330 and love it – been driving it for some 12 years now.

nick brice says:

Germans pay more for Mercedes than Americans that's true of all European cars

sasothestrategizer says:

Who in Europe is watching this American mechanic. This guy sells “Wolf Tickets”.

Tomislav Kovačević says:

No, you americans just dont understand that 70% of mercedes cars in Europe are with diesel engines, our gas is 5 to 10 times more expensive so we need cars that consume less fuel. But on the other hand diesel engines are more robust then gasoline engines so they last longer, yes even 4 cylinder diesels. You americans are obsessed with V8 gasoline engines, you want power, but power doesnt always mean quality. So there you are, that is the main diference you americans failed to recognize.
