Great post, I am starting to collect old mercedes 300d turbos, great
engines from 1977 through 1987. The only issue is minor paint work and of
course interior. This post is really helpful for my interior needs.
What would this switch out cost?
the seats in my 87 300sdl, were kinda worn after 450,000 miles. I couldnt
locate the navy blue seats for sale from the 88 -91. What I found in
mercedes slavage yard here in NC are navy blue seats from a 1982 300sd, but
with 43,000 miles on the odometer. The car had been there for many years
since late 90’s. The seats were so nice and just great. I had different
wiring. but disconnected memory. Reconfigured some”pins” and got the seats
where I liked. Installed them. Looks great!
I was looking fwd too see how you remove them but it’s faily easy so
nevermin, nice vid anyway
Wunderbar are the 2nd gen seats just input or modifications needed?
Another useful video, thanks Kent.
Thanks Kent, I definitely like the older door panels better, but the design
of the newer seats. It’s interesting how the old door panels seem to match
the newer seats, more than the newer door panels! Meanwhile, I’ve got an
older style blue interior I’d like to switch to newer black..obviously more
work, but this gives me inspiration!
Are the seats and door panels interchangeable with the 300SD models as well?
I’ve decided to cheat and got a pair of optional Recaro sport-type leather
seats from an Audi. They match the era, but the headrests and tracks are
Audi style. Still have to solve that.
can i have your old front seats? my w115 is suffering from mid 90’s mazda
truck seats 🙁
I did that swap in a W124 and it was like day and night!
