I recently accidentally broke the cast metal LHS “TRANS BRIDGE ANGLE W” bracket on my 1988 300SE tilting sunroof (part # MBA 126 780 1512) … they now want $550 for a new one here Downunder!
It only cost me $128 under 4 years ago for the same part ….. I am not happy.
i wish my 240D had a sunroof despite all the problems, i love the mercedes sunroofs! 10 times more than air condition! 😉

Fantastic infofmative video, I wish you live in the UK so you could look at my W123 sunroof.
After letting a bodyshop dismantle the roof so that it could be re sprayed I can not get the roof to open or close properly. I gave them genuine merc parts to replace while they had the roof apart including new felt feet which I was able to purchase.
After watching your video it looks like it could be the cable maybe you think that is c
I cannot here any clanging noises from the motor.
