I remember back in 2014 at German-Uganda Autos Ltd where that lead covering the fuel filter broke while hammering counter clockwise to open….good that you've opened perfectly. kindly SUBSCRIBE to support my hustle of #1000Subscribers
A few things to mention here,
1- you need a tool to remove the coupling o ring. It is very tight and using hammer and flat head will break the plastic tips and damage the fuel pump.
2- you need to evenly tight it later to stop gas fumes from escaping the seal again flat head wont work here.
3- once you have removed the clamp from fuel filter pipe, it is better to put a new one or use the one with screw, putting the same clamp again is not safe as it might get loose.
4- You cannot find the fuel filter only, you need to replace the entire thing. The whole unit holds pressure as it has built-in pressure regulator, opening it and putting some sort of filter may cause the retainer to leak

I'm sorry, I must be crazy but I never seen the fuel filter in the video at all… could you be so kind as to point it out… thanx ….. what I was actually trying to say in that comment was thar nobody had taken the filter media out of fuel filter module casing, they just show the exterior of the filter casing, as if to say you can't change the filter media by itself people seem to belive that you have 2 buy the entire module and you can't even buy the filters or even the pumps or filter separately .

Nice video but what a horrible place for Mercedes to locate the gas filter inside the passenger compartment. I wonder how many months the poor owner has to smell gas inside the car before it dissipates..
why not completely shunt the filter and put another one on the hose? Like on any other car. Is this possible? If you have access to the input and the output hose, just bind them together with some adapter and put a regular line filter downstream. Is it possible?

I don't like the hands being exposed to high-octane fuel (note the parched skin on one hand) gloves must be worn in this situation. Secondly, having the fuel pump resting on a workbench that's not completely free of dust or dirt has the potential to work its way into the tank, along with fuel lines and cables dangling over the side with the end reaching the floor. It could contaminate the fuel, and maybe escaping the filter.
I have an 08 s63 and the filter is made different . Can you tell me how many fuel lines attach to my fuel filter.
Did I miss something in the video or another? It looks to me like there are two fuel pumps?
