Hey, it looks like he knows what he’s doing…and on the perfect car to
learn on…if he can do it…
Is your neighbor Vietnamese? by the way it seems you don’t any box wrench
tools?
later that day, he changed his oil, with used mobil 1 synthetic oil that
came out of a 2014 benz. He only paid 1 dollar, which was the disposal fee
Thank You 🙂
first of all, you never jack the car up and use the jack as a support. You
get some jack stands and put it on them. If that jack rolled away he would
be crunch. Safety first. Second really a cresent wrench and vise grips..
wow
Thanks for the video
Everybody giving him so much flack over that used shock. The car needs
tires too and he needs to save some cash for some jack stands and chocks.
At least the used shock will allow him to put some miles on it and see if
there are MAJOR issues or if it’s worth fixing the laundry list of small
stuff properly.
new shocks cost about 27€/one= 54€… not that expensive. i would rather
wait to get the 60€ to buy 2brand new ones than buy just one used… but
well its your car and you pay the bills, not me 🙂 nice car btw. i have
myself a 1991 200D w124. driven about 900 000km and still works excellent.
MB is the best! :)
I am about to attempt the same in my 1995 W124, only with a new pair of
Bilstein shocks. The bootliner is a little more cumbersome and rigid than
earlier models! Thanks for giving me the confidence, usually wouldn’t
attempt something like this :)
Good score and good vid!
he got a used shock cuz its a mercedes , new shocks are expensive
Good Sh!t my dude =]
what is going on with that hood, it looks like its off a 126 SEC
Honestly, if you are going to go through the trouble, why not just buy 2
new shocks?
I’ll film every repair I do. Upcoming will be shifter bushings, rear brake
pads, air/fuel ratio adjustment, etc.
This car needs new rear springs as the one shown is banana shaped. Only
replace shock absorbers in pairs and the rear tyres are badly worn. Undoing
nuts with an adjustable is too painful to watch and is that a crack in the
metal around the top where the top of the shock absorber comes into the
trunk? Although this video shows you what to do do not copy this method of
working or replacing parts for your own safety.
Remember to get rust proofing and undercoating every year since you are in
Ontario! Plus this is an old import classic that you don’t want it to be
destroyed by Canadian weather and the classic Ontario salty roads right.
I own a 1989 Mercedes Benz w124 300E has 258,341mi. I do all my own
mechanical work its my daily driver. I bought a 2000 Mercedes Benz w210
E320 a year ago as a 2nd vehicle has 105,371mi. I reallly perfer the w124
higher quality parts and less electrical issues to deal with. Over all much
cheaper to maintain and repair just my opinion. Thanks for the great upload
Cutting corners with any mercedes car is futile.
Yeah make more viDs from the w124
who the fuck buys used shocks… that’s fucking dumb
Yeah it’s better to pony up the extra dollars and buy new shocks absorbers.
He’s forgetting time is worth something as well. I can understand buying a
used motor, trans and other mechanical parts but a used shock absorber is
ridiculous.
Great job on changed the rear shock. I’m about going replace on my 190E,
this is useful for me. god bless steve H.
Why do you smashed a bottom cover plastic. You should take it off, by
screwing two screws out.
maybe he didnt care?! just wants to get this on the road but you can do a
better job Mr Perfect =]
bought me a 92 300e a few months back… i love it wayyy more than my 09
escape =[ lol but great vid bro i need to replace front shocks. Git the
same color scheme too with replica evo2 rims =]
Bardzo dobry film instruktażowy.
Please don’t work under your Merc when it’s just supported by a jack-
especially doing suspension work undoing tight bolts… Use a good-quality
jack-stand- trust me, trolley jacks can shift without warning!
r you leaving in USA???
Nice video, I have to do this myself 🙂
Great vid! Gotta 1994 w124 estate myself:) great cars! Keep posting vids!
Thanks a lot
got a ’92 400E, too many problems and no idea how to fix em all…
Tanks man! I used your vid. The only difficulty i had where the rusty
bolts…and say hello to your neighbour!
