Thanks for the info..I did find one or 2 that were harder to remove with
the plastic keys (helping someone out and didn’t have my real keys with me)
the plastic ones did work, but were pretty smushed up afterwards and
wouldn’t be good to use again

lol..you’re welcome 🙂

Are there screws to remove that entire center dash bezel hiding in there? I
have a head unit for my stereo stuck inside the metal cradle, and the
removal tools get stuck inside when I try to take the head unit out, so I
think I need to take that whole center piece out to get it loose.

fupabox says:

straight up underneath the radio there are 2 phillips screws that hold the
centre wood panel on

I will add that using thin credit card plastic may NOT work on certain MB
radios – on some of them like Audio 30 units made by Becker for the USA
market, the spring tension is so high, that a plastic key cannot move them
without getting bound up. Another forum post suggested using the strip of
metal from the top of a hanging folder (Pendaflex folder). The plastic key
removed my climate control unit very easily because the spring force on
that is no where near as high as the radio one.

$56 wow ! that is way more than those keys should cost
