John, intriguing video you have produced. I’d like you to address several
claims you have made which you imply are factual and remain unsubstantiated.
You have clearly stated that you are an engineer but not qualified in
collision mechanics, is this correct?
You stated that the reference MB made to the bonnet as being bullshit and
no evidence has been provide. Can you please share your own evidence in
contrary to what MB has stated?
You stated that you spoke to, to experts one having an association with a
major insurer. Surely someone such as yourself can see how the comments
from this alleged person could be biased toward the insurer as we are
talking about saving the insurer money.
Your wording are quite ambiguous, using comments such as serious and
significantly. Is this because you cannot substantiated the impact of non
genuine parts on all crashes?
John, you claim the 15 kg weight difference is nothing, maybe nothing in
the total weight of the vehicle. But how does it effect things like pop up
hinges designed to cope with significantly less weight to reduce pedestrian
trauma? How about fuel consumption?
Why do you want a genuine part fitted to your vehicle? Because you know
the truth, don’t you?
Not only can you void your warranty, the non genuine article is inferior,
wont steel rust unlike aluminium, how is that steel bonnet going to effect
resale of the vehicle?
Your comments appear to be more of a vendetta with MB, didn’t you get an
invite? Why aren’t you attacking Hyundai, Honda, Mazda who have also
released similar articles?
I believe you are misleading the public, trying to condition them into
believing non-genuine parts are just as good as the real deal. The reality
is, you’re only increasing the profit margins of insurers and devaluing
peoples cars.
Tell me the last time your insurance premium went down and the value of
your car remained the same?

Hi John, I could’t agree with you more, You are a great car reviewer. I
will be watching more of your videos in the future before I buy a new car.

We live in Melbourne. My father recently had a small accident in his W203.
At the time he was insured with Budget Direct. A company based in QLD.
When we received the car back we found they had used a 2nd hand headlight.
It was in a poor condition with buff marks all over the plastic lens. This
was quite disappointing.
To cut a long story short, in the end it was replaced with ANOTHER 2nd hand
head light but in much better condition. BD said its their policy to use
2nd hand parts if it saves money for the repairer. I was totally shocked,
we cancelled all our cars with Budget and went somewhere else.

Thanks for your time.

Good on you to be telling the truth.

Mercedes-Benz wants you to think genuine parts are a road safety issue,
when in fact its all about profit.
