I made this video as a request. If you cannot erase or reset the maintenance reminder via the instrument cluster or steering wheel buttons (sometimes you cannot if the buttons have failed).
Then the last option is to use the Mercedes Star Diagnosis machine also known as Xentry or SDS or C3, it goes by many names.
Basically the FSS (flexible Service System) is a internal function of the Instrument cluster and or central gateway depending on the model. So you will need to either access the “module” directly with the Star or run a quick test and then select the “module” from there. This video runs you through the function. I hope this helps. Hi Lou I’m looking to to get a scanner off the mb star tool website but there so many versions. I have a shop and Benzos come in often. Currently I’m using the new Bosch diagnostics scanner that came out last year. It’s good but I want a more in depth scanner For the benzos. I am an ex Benz tech and I’m familiar with xentry. Will the scanner from mb star tool be as good if not at least close to what I need to do full diags such as abc, srs, SAM Issues, reprogramming? Also which one do you use? How can I rest the abs light on the bottom right corner of my cluster. It’s a 2005 S430 base. I have the icarsoft md2. But it’s not resetting I was told star would have to reset it.
