Some repairs to the front of the Mercedes M278 engine are much easier when the fan isn’t in the way. To remove it is very simple and takes a minute. Just unplug the electrical connector down of the driver side and then you remove two metal clips at the top, one on each side. Be careful not to drop the clips, if you do anyway the Mercedes dealer can sell you more for $4 each, I like to keep a few on hand because I do drop them and I’m not sure where they go but I’ve never found them.
