EZOfficialChannel says:

Mines have the exact same dashboard error messages right now, BAS/ESP ETS, and wouldn’t allow me to accelerate when driving, is that the same problem?

407pc says:

good video, very practical

Xion Unjust says:

Awesome, glad it worked out.

Brian D. Couch says:

Dawn McDonald says:

Thankyou for this!! I just fixed mine, this is the second time in about 6 months my husband did it the first time but hes out of town.I think i know what is causing it.I just started going to pick up my grandson from his new house about 6 months ago and its all dirt potholed roads out there. I think when i break and hit those its jamming that thing all the way inI took the old one out and pulled the thing back out put it in and it worked.I still changed it but wanted to check dont buy one ck fst

Michael Burns says:

Hello, What “little tab by the shifter” are you referring to? I have the same problem.

Prince Dabby says:

i have a Mercedes ml320 2000 the break light is stuck on what can i do to take it of so that it can work normal thanks i watch ur video is very interesting

407pc says:

fantastic, good work.

Brent Pennington says:

you fucking guy you

juukame says:

Fixed it; the little white nub was stuck pushed in, now everything’s back to normal. It has been bitterly cold up here in Wisconsin, so maybe that had something to do with it.

juukame says:

My ml wouldn’t shift out of park the other day, thank god for that little tab by the shifter. Just ordered my new switch so hopefully it’ll solve the problem. Quite annoying considering I just had the switch replace less than 2 months ago.

mrfunkytoo15 says:

That is a common cheap problem

Jarrob24 says:

Thanks again. Do you know if the brakelight switch effects the shifting of the car? A couple of times recently before I changed the switch, my car would shift into neutrel while excelerating. I would have to turn the car off and restart it to get it to shift properly. It happened twice. I hope this has fixed that problem.? I guess I’ll find out??

Xion Unjust says:

Awesome dude. Glad to have saved you that $170.

Jarrob24 says:

Great video and took about 20 minutes. My car is a 2003 clk430. a bit different but basically the same steps. Great video. Corrected my eps, bas, and abs light from comming on. Great tips. Never would have figured to hold clip and turn clockwise, so easy. Dealer wanted an hour of labor @ $170.00 plus part at $30. I bought the part for $30 and saved 170. Great, Thanks……. The hardest part is just positioning yourself under the dash.

hello12229 says:

This happened to my 01′ ML320 3 times now. After 5 years, gear wouldn’t release, flatbedded to Dealer. 6 months ago cost me $60 with parts and labor, but was able to drive. Yesterday BAS/ESP and ETS lights came on, no brake lights, but would shift. Got 2 switches from MB only junkyard for $10. Installed in under 30min. Tip- take off the middle brake light and aim it forwards so you can see the lights. Removed positive terminal for 10min. ETS light was now out, drive for 200M and BAS turns off.

jag5904 says:

Thanks – ETS light only was on, then my front brakes started to lock up. I followed you’re good directions, and it seems to have fixed the problem. ETS light went off,
no more brakes seizures.

IrishhCream says:

Awesome video.Just did this today.Bought the part for $30.00 and time to do it was 10 mins.
Thanks again for the walk through and help.

Thumbs up

CruisinS430 says:

Thanks for providing this video, I will replace mine as soon as I receive the part. You make it look easy!

Thecooldude1214 says:

My is like that how did you fix yours please reply

fattyfoo says:

regards to your gear: gear will get stuck if the switch isn’t connected(safety hazard). This also confirmed that the brake light switch did not need to be replaced. There’s no way you can put your car in reverse with a broken brake switch.

fattyfoo says:

I have a 2000 E320. I had the same issue BAS/ESP light came on immediately when i turned on the car and stepped on my brakes. Fuses were good and so were the brake light bulbs. I went underneath and tweaked the position of the brake light switch(pulled it out, placed it back in, gave it a firm press) Focus on that white knob at the tip of the switch(press it over and over) not sure how or what exactly fixed the issue but that’s exactly what i did and my brake lights all work fine. good luck

rvilla1011 says:

Thanks for the help!!!!

neal4byway4 says:

Well done old chap v good vid with handy tips just changed mine for the first time in about 5 mins .

Xion Unjust says:

No, only my BAS/ESP light was on (traction control off)

Ezie Jr Andrade says:

Questions: Did your gear get stuck in Parking as well? I too have the BAS/ESP light on also the break light will Not go on when I push down the break.

GrowlTigerGT says:

Thanks for posting this. It helped me repair my car.

EmmitaDelEstero says:

Forgot: also my BAS ESP and ETS Lights were on…now they are off :)))

EmmitaDelEstero says:

Had the same problem…Brake lights wouldnt work even when I braked….Paid $17.54 for the switch at Oriellys auto parts…..Thanx

enoc guadalupe says:

thanks for the upload… it was easy

bryanarmen says:

It took me like 15 mins to this job! A guy quoted me $150.00 to do this job. The part was less then $30.00 buck from the dealer. Good thing I came here and saw this video. Saved me 120.00!!!!!

Xion Unjust says:

Thanks!

taquillo12 says:

thanks it worked!

Xion Unjust says:

I had the BAS/ESP light and the other one next to it

Vadim Kachmar says:
