try replacing the fuel filter

Assuming the fuel pump and fuel pump valve are functioning to specifications, Start by cleaning the throttle plate.
Then replace the fuel accumulator.
You may also need to clean or replace the fuel injection pressure regulator. $$$
Mike, if I were you, I'd ask myself why does it battle to start, IE long crank time.
I think you hit the same thing that stopped Cleo in his diagnostics.
Check fuel.hoses or connections you may be sucking in air but not enough for the fuel to leak out. Also you swapping parts from.cleo 1 that may have the same faulty parts. Have fun though.
I have told you at least ten times ! You need to put techron made by chevron ! Its the only approved fuel treatment for volvo ever ! More than 30 years ago ! Cleans injectors and the whole system ! It also cleanes the carbon buildup on the valves ! Cheap gas treatment is junk ! Usally.they have about once a month a buy one get one free . get the larger size ! I think 18 oz gets 12 oz .
Have try clean throttle body and do tune up on car check vacumm hoses

Mike,have you changes plug wires.
A bit left field but how about checking the Earth points on the car. Under acceleration the engine/transmission will move putting strain on the Earth connections. If there is a poor connection it will cause all sorts of electrical problems…..Just a thought (like you need some more!)
It sounds like bad plugs
The error code flashed 18 times. Something electrical that happens when you rev up. Suggestion: It has separate ignition coils that can become very brittle and give strange sparks especially when revving up. Try replacing them (one by one) with a used one that you know works. From Cleo x? Keep up the good work, Mike!
Did you check the OVP (Over Voltage Protection) relais? I've had the same problem and fixed it by replacing it.
Mike just thinking could it be the the bosch fuel injunction system I know they can be extremely temperamental sometimes good luck my friend
It’s frustrating when you try to go systematically at diagnosing a car problem. I’m not a Mercedes mechanic, or even a fan, but I’d say that you’ve got a problem with either the injectors, the throttle body, or a fuel pump that’s weak and not keeping pressure up on demand. mike that is dirty sticking injectors! get some injector cleaner and add the entire bottle you won't hurt the motor, then send it around the block in 1st gear with foot flat to the floor!
