I just did mine on my recently acquired S124 E320 this evening following your guide.
Guess what I found? Mine had no filter in place at all !!!
As a further tip, for anyone with a right hand drive car like me, I’d just like to add that the access and insertion is on the SAME side as shown in your video….and not on our driver’s side.

You probably have a vacuum leak at the climate control vacuum valve or the valve is bad. Google the following: W124ClimateVacuumValve
