I just did mine on my recently acquired S124 E320 this evening following your guide.
Guess what I found? Mine had no filter in place at all !!!
As a further tip, for anyone with a right hand drive car like me, I’d just like to add that the access and insertion is on the SAME side as shown in your video….and not on our driver’s side.

Thanks for putting this together! I too own a 1994 E320 with only 49k miles, and the vent airflow is very low and I always wondered if it needs a new cabin filter and now I know that it does..
