Tip, using dryice pellets is much more efficient than blocks. 🙂

cy80rg says:

I have an 88 rx7 I found coolant in one of my spark plug housings. I knew
the radiator was running hit couldn’t figure out why. I flushed it changed
the thermostat. All hoses are fine. Water pump is fine too. But I don’t
know what coolant in the spark plug housing means can you help me out here.
Love your bids by the way you make it look easy.

aaroncake says:

Dry ice is frozen carbon dioxide, so no danger there. Now the kerosene, on
the other hand, that would have been interesting. Of course one has a fire
extinguisher close by at all times.

aaroncake says:

@lala22k2 You know you can have access to my sperm any time you wish, but
only under the condition that I don’t have to raise the offspring. Not for
my benefit of course, but for the good of the planet. My influence would
create so much awesome with our combined genetics that it might actually
destroy the universe and all surrounding objects, causing a ripple effect
which would restart time itself. Not even Chuck Norris would survive.

xboxershawn says:

“well that was fun, and by fun I mean really not fun at all” hilarious

crenly says:

whats sand blasting

notrickroll says:

urgh moist

aaroncake says:

@yerboogieman Why would I use gloves on foam? Kerosene has always worked in
the past and it only take a few cups to do the job. Unlike alcohol it does
not evaporate. As for the rotors, seeing as there was a 0% chance I would
send them to you, I don’t see how you could mind.

mfjeff says:

hell yah!! i spotted that spaghetti monster poster in the background :>

aaroncake says:

@davemiii I share the shop with some friends, so occasionally you may
see/hear them on camera. They are, however, camera shy. It’s definitely
worth the $25 for some dry ice. Keeps for a few days in a cooler.

mark rogers says:

I love watching your videos, you make it look easy

Dpettis71 says:

Hi Aaron , a heat gun also works great ,ripping up the sound deadening
material on the floor

Grappler130 says:

Looking good! 🙂

wild13bt says:

cant wait for the engine build to come up, i’m just starting mine this
weekend!

aaroncake says:

I’ll be coating the floor in POR-15 and then either using a spray on
insulating sound deadener like Lizard Skin or applying good old Dynamat.

Kent Soliven says:

nice video aaron! very informative. i have always heard about dry ice and
tar but never did look into it seriously. glad to see more progress with
the Cosmo. =] -finishline (from rx7club)

aaroncake says:

@1SWEETRX7 Dry ice is one of my favourite kinds of ice.

1SWEETRX7 says:

Keep em coming. Dry ice for the win!

aaroncake says:

Blasting the surface with media shot via high pressure air to remove all
contaminates (rust, paint, etc.) down to bare metal.

1973mazdarx4coupe says:

your website isnt working. good luck with your project ! see my rx4 project
too !

Kevin Duong says:

“For all you people on the 7 forum who don’t believe that dry ice helps
remove tar, well heres proof that aaron is always right.” hahaha! keep it
up Aaron love to see that at the next summer meet

aaroncake says:

@wild13bt Tonight I should be finished porting the irons (a very minor port
job, mainly on the primaries). Then I probably won’t work on it until
sometime on the weekend when I’ll port the exhaust ports (just a bit
wider). Then a bit of cleaning, painting, and ready to go. Maybe the build
will be next weekend?

nathan tabe says:

if i only knew about dry ice grrrr

morphman123 says:

dude your videos are awesome. I’m learning so much useful stuff its no even
funny. keep the videos coming, every day I check my youtube to see if you
put up another video.

dcrypter87 says:

Why was there tar in the car?

youngguns66951 says:

I would not touch that carpet and padding with my bare hands if someone
paid me…

aaroncake says:

@mfjeff Noodly appendage!

Kielliger says:

It’s going to look super..! Nice to follow your project. Luckey mine is
already finished. Have a peek.

aaroncake says:

@taxmino Haha….Thanks for the compliment, but no, I’m not for hire. I
actually hate body work and things like patching floors. 🙂

curlybillbrosie says:

i havent yet seen all your videos in this set so forgive me if you cover
this later but are you going to have to re-tar the floor? by the way, love
your vids and eagerly await to see your latest progress on the cosmo

aaroncake says:

@morphman123 Glad you are enjoying them! I figure I’ll be putting out an
episode once every two weeks or so unless I really blitz something and do a
lot of work in a few days. It’s hard editing down 3+ hours of footage into
a 15 minute video.

FinnsterW says:

cant wait to see this finished!!

aaroncake says:

The tar applied to the floor by the factory is a sound deadener. It takes
the resonance out of the sheet metal panels. The tar in the driver and
passener footwells is part of a very poor patch made to the rust many years
ago.

hayzie says:

great video, good luck with the project

yerboogieman says:

Umm, Aaron, A gas mask, with no gloves on the foam. Ooo, air chisel (air
hammer). I need one of those. Instead of kerosene, for stuff like that use
100% alcohol, as in, the stuff you can use to run cars 100%. Go ahead, use
the original rotors. I won’t mind.

fcguy7 says:

by the comments above it looks like the carpet isn’t the only thing moist.

aaroncake says:

@1973mazdarx4coupe I have not completed the Cosmo section of my website,
but wanted the URLs in the videos for when I do. I’m hoping that within a
week, the video URLs will be up and running.
