Tyler I’ve watched your vids several times, in an effort to convince myself to change out my bearing in my car (2k1 Protege MP3) and all i can tell you is after watching for the umpteenth (word) time I’m ready to tackle it. It’s warm here in vegas so, I won’t need the heater (joke). Thx man for the post and i will get back after its done.

freethefaggs says:

maybe its tight because theres no grease left…

gargolart says:

Good job man, thanks.

Now I’m going to leave these comments up for a little while so everyone can get a laugh out of it. After that, they are going to removed. If you have a question or comment that is relevant, then leave it. Otherwise, don’t expect to able to post comments and them stay because I’m not going to be called a liar by you or anyone else, period.

WhoSaidTyler says:

Look..and this is going to be the last comment in this series of distractions…

I’m not spreading “myths” or “lies”, got it? The way I recommend is the way the factory shop manual specifies and the way just about everyone else specifies. If you want to congratulate yourself on not using a press then be my guest.

But, my videos illustrate the safe, professional way to do things and that’s that. I’m not about to risk someone losing a hub at 80mph and that ALSO is that.

WhoSaidTyler says:

In addition, there is NOTHING I enjoy more than calling out a hypocrite. All you apparently do on your channel is put up records. I don’t see YOU doing anything except TALKING.

When you have videos showing you actually getting yourself greasy and cut up in order to help people with free video tutorials, then you come back and yak some more and we’ll listen..maybe.

Until then, fade back into obscurity. You say another nasty word and you will never see another comment of your here…EVER.

WhoSaidTyler says:

Is that so, Al Loudmouth?

You know what I did during that 15 minutes it took that guy to beat the bearing out? I drank a coke and watched somebody do 2 two of them with a press. If beating bearings out by hand was such a great idea everybody would be doing it wouldn’t they?

And as far as “getting dirty doing DIY jobs”…stop playing your records for a minute and check out the REST of this channel and you’ll see some DIY and grease, pal. Curse on my channel again and you’re gone.

WhoSaidTyler says:

Yes. You will need to take your spindle assembly with the old bearings in them to a machine shop along with your new bearings and they will press the bearings out and in as needed. You cannot just knock them out at home with a hammer, not even close.

This isn’t something that a chain parts store can do, you’ll need a place that has a dedicated machine shop that does engines and heads and that type of thing.

jess1860 says:

my 02 protege had both bearings gone, once i get those off the car do i haveto take them somewhere to get them pressed in the hub o something?

sgtmarcial1 says:

clubcar98 says:

Have all three hands holding this thing. lol

I made the mistake whacking the shaft on the box fan, had to take the grinder out to make the motor go back together.

siemenstraffic says:

Great Video! You should consider to replace the boot on the ball joint rather then glueing it toghter.
