And this dude is a moron any decent mechanic would never re use the pump seal

@nicholasloomis9302 says:

Coming sense if you needed to replace your fuel pump you obviously wouldn't be able to drive your car till it's out of gas ideally in normal circumstances

@danpettis1675 says:

my question is ,why would mazda have an access panel for just connections ? they had EVERY opportunity to make that Hole just a bit larger ,so you can just pull the pump straight out from inside the car.

@Triplejtriplem says:

I just cut a hole on top of the fuel tank. After 2 minutes, off you go.

Pay attention gentlemen aka guys…..

Inside of mines dirty

@windvane_npk5844 says:

This won’t work, you have to drop the entire tank and make sure you get the new fuel pump to seat properly. Also be aware to not hit the fuel send units little circuit board while installing cause it could bend causing it to not make proper contact in the best case scenario or worst case is break the circuit board all together which is why I had to replace mine initially and the one I bought after was broken as well. And dropping it isn’t that hard. Get the car about a foot and a half up remove the bracket, like he did in the video, remove the plug and fuel line to the fuel pump then all that is left holding it up are the two fuel hoses connected to tank itself and it’ll drop right down. The higher the car is lifted up the more difficult it will be to drop it, 1 1/2 up is perfect regardless of how much fuel is in the tank. I’m literally working on it right now. Dropped the tank twice. Make sure to throughly check the fuel pump when you buy it. That sending unit is what is to be aware of. Hope this helps anyone.

That Laugh was REAL PAIN

@metalsurgeon9196 says:

Air nibbler, enlarge hole in required direction, bend tab up. Replace pump, bend tab down, seal with foil backed sealing tape. Your personal fleet only. Never for a customer.

@jarteaga3204 says:

Is this the same for the Mazdaspeed3 2008?

@johnl9279 says:

THANK YOU for sharing your wisdom with those of us who don't have the level of knowledge that you do. I REALLY APPRECIATE you!!!!

@chriskelly4150 says:

Question, is the acces or llocation of the fuel pump different in European vs American models and /or in different years? I volunteered to help a friend who can't afford to have it done in a shop. I just don't know if I need a lift or have the clearance from jack stands to drop the tank (if I have to) from the street

@tinevimbogumbo9471 says:

Many thanks. Your video is very clear

@lombard2692 says:

I'm buying another fuel pump for my Mazda 3 2010 2.0 but the specs of the item say "Without Pressure Sensor" is that normal, is the sensor located somewhere else in the vehicle or is this fuel pump missing it?

@hereforthecomments456 says:

Realest video ever, unscrewing that plate and realizing it’s not what you were expecting lol

@otakutech11 says:

Thanks guys, your video helped me out a lot (2013 Mazda 3). It got me most of the way there. Unfortunately for me the ring seal was held in with phillips screws that I then stripped while attempting to remove them so I had to take out the tank completely.

@nealhere says:

I felt your pain when you said a short install time.
Be sure to diconnect hoses before nut. Thanks for your efforts
All the best neal sw fla usa

@tonysea9724 says:

And all they (Mazda) had to do was make the hole under the seat just a little bit bigger. Doubt that an extra 25mmm in the overall diameter would effect crash performance…

@mariobtron5907 says:

I'm wondering why you said that wasn't the fuel pump under the backseat when it was ?

@brianlee677 says:

Put alot of trust in that forklift.

@travishenry608 says:

This guy is an idiot, he says. To use all plastic tools. But then he uses a Snap on drill that produces a spark Inside the casing with the magneto.. Plus hes still wearing a wedding ring. Which will cause static electricity.
