Lotus Exige 390 Final Edition – Convertible soft top retrofit/conversion DIY

Lotus Exige 390 Final Edition – Convertible soft top retrofit/conversion DIY

Apologies for the hiatus, lots of life things were happening and I was focusing on the other YouTube channel a bit more. But now I have some new DIY videos to share!

First up is something I never thought I’d do…drilling into the clam of my brand new 2022 Lotus Exige. Its all for a good reason though as this allows me to install the Lotus soft top and create a brand new experience for my car. This works for pretty much any Exige/Elise from S2 to S3 if you haven’t already got the rear brackets.

All you need is a T40 security torx, drill, dremel and some epoxy/glue. How hard can it be?

Part numbers:
C120B0199F for soft top, roof stays and bag
A116B0182F for brackets x2
B117B0480K for spacers x2

Iā€™m wondering if I can do this with my GR Supra, with a hard top tho. Any suggestions?

Thanks for this Luan. I will do this myself one day but I'm terrified of taking the drill and dremel to the car! I've heard conflicting reports on if it's possible to easily run both the hard and soft top. Something to do with the rubber grommet's being in the way of the central fixing for the hardtop? Any issues like this? It's not a big deal if it is the case, but would be annoying. In fact, you glued those in, so I assume you can still fit your hard top right?
Driving impressions with the roof off and exhaust open soon please! šŸ™‚

Hi Luey. Can I ask where you got your soft top from?
