Is it possible to have Alfresco monitor an existing share, or shares, that
are on other servers. For instance, I have corporate documents on a file
server, can I mount/add/something that to my Alfresco repositories? Or do I
need to get those docs into Alfresco via upload/ftp?
True, these sample files are not on the default installation, however, I
did find the content for these files. I just created them myself from the
text of the v3.0 Installation guide. Not enough space to post here. Worked
for me when I mapped to the Alfresco directory. Checkinout and
displaydetail objects didn’t work when I mapped directly to the spacename.
would you please also tell me abot the how to do back up and restore in
alfresco since you genius and please explain me the simple procdures i am
newbie to alfresco and am not tech person at all
Hi Karl. I know you asked this some time ago but you can use the eDrive
project from the Alfresco add+ons site Steve
Thanks. We ended up not moving in the direction of Alfresco for the time
being.
@johnysingh2010 Hi. You can find the backup and restore details at
wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/Backup_and_Restore
Any chance of an updated set of instructions to quickly get CIFS working on
an Alfresco 4 installation? All I can find online that is confirmed to work
is for Alfresco 3.x, and doesn’t work in Alfresco 4.x. I’m trying to get it
set up on a Windows system.
CIFS configuration starts at 3:00 thanks for the video 🙂
In case you’re trying & failing to make CIFS work on Windows watch out for
this bug: goo(dot)gl(slash)PadI or Google for “Unable to authenticate via
CIFS on Windows Vista SP1” (The bug also applies for other Windows
versions.) The symptoms are 1) you can ping the Alfresco server & 2) no
login credentials work.
The two “VTI” files mentioned in this webinar do not exist in the default
install of Community edition. I attempted to follow these instructions
today (7/13/09) downloading the latest distribution and these files are not
present.
