I have the airbag code 32, the horn and cruise control don’t work at all. And my radio doesn’t work either and all the fuses and connections are good is that do to the clockspring too?
I have an 02 LSE too. I had (and now have again) problems with struts and all kinds of bushings in the front. Not to mention head gasket issues.. Still love it since I owned it back in 04.
hey was there a special tool you had to use to remove the airbag or was it the 8mm bolts that are on the 2000 because my 2001 has unusual looking retaining bolts
I just bought a black 02 Lincoln LSE…I love it. Mine also has this problem, so I thank you very much for this video. Also does anyone know do the LSE have front strut problems? It only has 62k miles. Thanks again!!!
If you don’t have a puller, just leave the bolt partially unscrewed and yank on the steering wheel. If you take the bolt off all of the way, you will hit yourself in the face when the steering wheel comes off.
I just bought a 2001 LS V6 for $1k because the airbag light and radio buttons weren’t working… THIS SAVED ME TONS OF CASH! Ebay cost of part $110… labor = me (free) … YOU ROCK! THANK YOU SO MUCH!
This was so awesome of you to make this video. Ever since I bought my 02 LS in 09 I’ve had the issue of no cruise and the seat belt light. Now I finally can fix the issues. Thank you.
Hi. I couldn’t say for sure, but the clock spring is probably the cause. This is considering it’s a common item to break combined with the fact u have a cruise control problem AND an air bag code (those items have nothing to do with each other except the wiring runs through the clockspring). Good luck.
Hi i have been without cruise formonths now but a new issue has started the yellow air bag light is on flashing code 32 i rewired my harness under the seat but is still on could this.be the issue with the air bag? Thanks
Great video! Thank you for posting this. And for anyone complaining, making a video narration on the fly isn’t the easiest thing if you are not 100% familiar with what you are talking about.
I just used this video as well to change clock spring on my 01 lincoln ls. Great info. Only difference is i just shook the steering wheel back and forth and hit it with my fist on each side and it came off. Nice video info. Thanks again! BTW it was a smooth 30 min walk through.
I used your video as refrence when replacing the clockspring in my 2002 LS. It was a great help. The job took about an hour & was not hard at all. It also saved me close to $300 & a trip to the dealer. Thank you!
Hey do you had problems after you put the air bag?? I mean I saw than you have to put the Lincoln star face up.. And what problems you had. Cause I have to do the same.. thanks for the video..
can some 1 help me with mi car, my signals, wipers and steering wheel controls dnt work if you can look at my video and tell me if you type on toolbar: HELP Lincoln ls signal and wipers
Thanks a bunch! Been needing to do this to mine, just wasn’t sure how involved it would be, but now I know, thanks again and don’t let negative jackasses discourage you from making more videos that help and inform people. Thanks again!
Not my first time turning a wrench. I simply decided last second to record a video AFTER I had nearly completed the job. Sorry I didn’t memorize it all and script it for you perfectly. I don’t know how much more thorough one can be about removing what I believe ended up being 2 snaps, 2 bolts, the 4 horn bolts, a few wire connections and then the steering wheel bolt. I already know the vid isn’t as good as a true step by step vid. Just thought it still might help virgins feel more comfortable.
I was hoping this would be more thorough instead he skips and forgets and has to back up and repeat. He acts like this is his first time turning a wrench.

Marty is always right
Ok,… random dumb question… do I need to pull the steering wheel off to change the clockspring?
@bigroidboy That is definitely worth trying and might work.,but didnt work for me…and im one tough dude! 😉

You should let the car sit for 10 minutes minimum, so lets go over some safety points for handling airbags.
-Carry airbag modules with the air bag and trim cover pointed away from you so you dont get socked in the gut
-Place modules on bench or surface facing up so they dont Jiffy Pop and hurt something or someone.
Airbags can accidentally fire and the force can do some pretty serious damage so dont take any chances with them.

thx
Thanks for posting.. I hope i never have to replace the clockspring but if i do Im confident enough to do it myself now…
So what, he did it. Without having his guts wrenched out at the dealership I might ad.
TY!
